Will not work with X10 16 key keypad
This may be a fine device if you have an 'X10 system' but not for me. I use a simple X10 hand controller, with 16 buttons to turn stuff on and off, socket rocket for bulbs and lamp modules and appliance modules, etc.I expected this to work the same way but it doesn't. You can't press an 'on button' and have this go off. Instructions say to press 'on' then 'off' then 'on' again and keep doing this as long as you want the sound. Not something you want to do when you need an alarm. As far as the sound, it's not very loud, not to me anyway and I tested it sitting next to it. It's pretty high pitched and might drive a dog nuts but nothing like my Stadium 105dB air horn. The unit would lock up and not turn on again even with the required commands requiring me to unplug the device and reinsert it for one more single toot then stop working again.I don't know if it's important but the word "PRO" is not on the module as it is with some other modules. It does say it on the box.No happy with this purchase.

Very Loud but good right?!
Loud horn but sometimes loses connectivity to the main unit. Unplug/ Replug to reset the horn does the trick. Works good with Simon XT alarm.

Not Compatible/Interchangeable
To get this siren to work with just an X10 transceiver and an X10 motion detector (ie. MS13A-C or MS16A), which is what you would expect to need for a security alarm, you will be disappointed. You can manually press the ON button on the motion detector a number of times sequentially, and the alarm will sound. The alarm will sound for a longer period of time in response to additional sequential pressing the ON button. This is not what I had in mind.I am not certain what the product description was on the exact date of my purchase, but on 28Nov2011 it reads: "A compact 105dB siren for use with any of the X10 security systems and personal assistance systems." Do not interpret this to mean that it will work with any X10 motion sensor. Apparently the transceivers can send a signal that would activate this siren, but the difficulty is in finding a device that will send the proper signal.Purchasing a separate siren and plugging it into an appliance module using a DC adapter is a possible option. But, you will still need a means of remotely arming/disarming the system. This can be done by plugging your X10 transceiver into an auxillary power outlet that is controlled by remote. There are a variety of such devices available on Amazon. But when the system does activate, you will still need a means of shutting off the devices. You can get a simple X10 keychain remote to send an OFF signal, but now you will have two separate remotes to contend with. I also put a separate ON/OFF switch at the receptacle end of the appliance module to be able to turn off the siren without having to unplug it.I bought a bunch of X10 modules thinking I could use them with these sirens. Don't be fooled. I even found an old Pro2000(PSC09C) security panel, but could not set *it* up because it required a remote monitoring system.X10 needs to add features for remote ON/OFF to their motion sensors, and make all their motion sensors and alarms compatible. It just does not make sense to sell motion detectors and alarms that are not compatible. As it stands, my system has two sirens, floodlights, a window screen attached to an electric fence energizer, an electronic dog barking perimeter, and a security camera with DVR. I am also configuring an MP3 siren to work with my own MP3 or WAV file for an additional customized barking dog response.Too bad I could not get these sirens to work. And, after weeks of emails, the vendor has yet to respond to my return request.

Works fine for us
We had this exact model for 9 years on our home security system and it died. We ordered this replacement, plugged it into the SAME outlet and it worked like a charm. And issue we originally had with this device is it needs to tie into the proper circuit in the house. Our circuit breaker is split so this only works on half of the house, it's just a matter of figuring out which outlets it works on by testing it (set the alarm off, walk around plugging it in). Much cheaper then ordering on from ADT, etc.

Not very LOUD 💤💤🐤
I bought one of these months ago and it is not very loud so I bought a second one that is just as nonloud. I was going to use it to scare multitudes of Blue Jays away from my bird feeders. It is installed 9 feet from the feeders and out of 100 Jays it only scared 4. (Yes I did actually count 1🐦,2🐦,3🐦,4🐦 of them, it is a great way to enjoy my retirement) Just sitting here spending my $600.00 Stimulus check on Ebay and waiting for my $1,400.00 check to arrive so I can buy a Blue Jay scare r 🎺🔊If you are expecting LOUD 📢💥 look 👀 somewhere else.

Works great. Wish it was slimmer.

Not worth buying.
It does not work right with the system that they said it would be compatible with. Not worth the money.
