Took all but 45 mins to install. Easy instructions to follow. Works great! No more reaching over the fence to reach the latch. Highly recommend the extension so you can open the gate on either side with the push button.

This door lock is very well made, heavy, rustproof. I have it on an outdoor shower and am very pleased with it.One great feature is that you can lock it from either side. Also, the side on the outside is big enough to be functional but small enough to be unobtrusive

Works for me just fine after adjusting the length of the bar a bit more than initially thought it needed during installation. Very convenient & useful. Seriously doubt it'd keep a determined trespasser out tho. As others have said, it can be disengaged by pushing down on the silver lever. This can be done by reaching over the fence if able to do that. Can b be done w/o reaching over too. Poking a stick or something thru the opening between the wood slats on a privacy fence gate to push the lever down would be a simple & fast way to unlock it. Short of installing a metal plate above & beside the lock to prevent these 2 scenarios, I see no way to make the lock more secure. It does give the appearance of security & makes coming & going convenient. So if only wanting convenience w/ a small measure of security, this is it. If looking for security against more determined people, maybe not w/o ammendments. But even an infallible lock won't stop a determined person because a gate can be broken & entered thru lock or no lock. For what it is, it gives the initial look of security, a measure of general security, & the convenience & ingenuity of using it are it's greatest features.
