Ice maker turned noise maker turned door stopper
I bought this ice maker for my wife's birthday. She is a huge nugget ice eater. I liked the price and I thought it would be a good in between ice maker. Well, that was November, now i'm buying a new one from someone else! It started making a loud buzzing noise and it would not stop. We unplugged and restarted 30min later, but it wouldn't make ice and started to do the same thing! It also seemed to stay dirty in the water reservoir, so my wife cleaned it more than usual. Also, the drain plug under the ice maker was annoying, especially to my wife, who is not a power lifter. You have to pull it halfway off the counter and place a bowl underneath the plug and hope you plug it back in correctly or splash, its on the floor. I just trashed it and spent money on the ge opal2. It's pricey, but quiet and produces a lot of ice for her. In this case, more expensive is better! By the way, I have lowes, and they price matched the ge website and i saved nearly 200$ on the opal2! Good luck!

Update! Give it time. It works fine.
Update: you just have to make ahead of time and transfer ice to a bin in freezer if you need to serve multiple people at once. It will not make ice fast enough to replenish drinks without having made ice ahead of time. It takes a while to fill the little basket that is included. But! It works well. Glad I kept and gave it another shot.

To good to be true.. Very Sad
Great for a few months then whines very loud and annoying. Too expensive to already having issues. None of the troubleshooting mention what to do when it's loud and annoying.

Legit Sonic‑style nugget ice, ready in minutes—my drinks are spoiled now
I’ve been chasing that soft, chewable “pellet” ice ever since I got hooked at Sonic. The VIVOHOME countertop nugget maker absolutely nails it. The texture is identical—crunchy yet easy on the teeth—and the machine starts dropping nuggets fast enough that my first glass is ready before I finish slicing limes. What stands out Fits the “Sonic ice” craving perfectly; the nuggets are small, airy, and soak up flavor just like the drive‑through stuff. Cranks out ice in a hurry: the specs say one nugget every 3 seconds and up to 44 lbs in 24 hours, and that feels about right in real‑world use. Compact footprint (roughly 9.4 × 13.2 × 15.4 in.) so it doesn’t hog counter space. Self‑cleaning cycle is one‑button simple—no more vinegar‑and‑toothbrush routine. Quiet hum; the compressor sound blends into normal kitchen noise. Bottom line If you want that iconic Sonic‑style nugget ice at home without waiting ages, this VIVOHOME unit delivers. Quick production, perfect texture, and stress‑free maintenance—my freezer cubes haven’t seen daylight since it arrived.

A temporary icemaker
I’ve had 2 of these. The first one wouldn’t stop making a loud screeching and ticking noise. I spoke to the seller and they sent me a new one. The new one worked perfectly until last month it stopped making ice completely. I didn’t have a full year with either ice makers.

I Love Crunchy Water!!!
I Love my crunchy water maker! When I was buying my ice I was going through More than a bag per day! Sometimes as much as 1 1/2 bags per day!😳 This ice maker makes Way more than I can use if I’m leaving it on all day. Make sure you clean it often! The top lid comes all the way off, to clean the “secondary” water area. I have really hard water, so I send it through my britta filter twice a. Because of the hard water it can cause calcium buildup (I think that’s what it is), so it actually stopped making ice (after only 6 months of use). I was devastated! A friend offered to fiddle around with it. He ended up running vinegar through it (equal parts water/vinegar). Now it’s working Perfectly again!! I Love my “crunchy Water!!!” I wish I could give it 4.5 stars. The reason that I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it stopped working. But that really ended up being because of my hard water. Maybe the users manual should say to use vinegar if it stopped making ice.🤔🤷🏻♀️

Broken plastic parts in ice
Caution... 1st one I received started leaking in 2 weeks so Vivohome sent a replacement and exactly 24 months after getting the replacement I found sharp plastic chucks that were in my ice. Found the plastic gear was falling apart. I made them aware of their SAFETY issue and they said I was out of warranty which I figured but they need to get this issue addressed because who wants plastic in there ice. I only use this machine about 3 or 4 times a month so not used for to many hours before the 2nd one failed.

The ice perfect. It is small and crunchy.
I wish we had discovered this machine before the last three that we purchased. So far it is absolutely amazing and we've had it for a few weeks. You will not regret this purchase. The other machines we had would not keep the ice cold. It would melt if you had not opened the lid in a while. So far I have found ample ice every time I go to the machine. We are amazed.
