Very good read and it gives the reader a very descriptive view on the American Indians and what they went through.

Kinda dense but with a good range of narrative styles, micro to macro with historical, legal and current perspectives. A great resource

I was very disappointed in this book. For the price this slender volume does not go into nearly enough detail about all the many legal and sociological changes happening in all the diverse regions of Indian America.They spend an inordinate amount of time talking about Indian casinos, which for my money is information that belongs in its own separate book. For anyone looking for in-depth information about ongoing improvements in health, education, and economic opportunities among different tribes and reservations across the United States, this is probably not the book you need.

Have this is a great book for native americans or economist. This is a very good book to have for reference.

Had to use it for my college class...it's rather laborious to get through although I do learn what I needed to. I don't necessarily recommend it as a reading book.
