Global 8Cm Tomato Knife

Bought as a gift, and greatly appreciated. Like all Global knives it's beautifully made, super sharp, and a pleasure to use. Some reviews said it was too small to be very useful, but I managed to finely slice an average sized orange without any trouble. A useful addition, although a bit of a luxury. Ordering was easy and it arrived quickly.

It's difficult to rate this knife for value. It was hideously expensive but its a beautiful thing that works perfectly. Just don't drop these knives, and if you do, don't try and catch them!

Absolutely fantastic purchase....... The knife makes light work of tomatoes and other types of soft fruit like strawberries and kiwis. Makes it easy to get very thin and consistently fine slices - the knife does the work. It;s what I expected from Global

Price made my eyes water but if you can afford and get pleasure from using the right tools and pain from using the wrong ones, this is for you. Absolute joy when slicing tomatoes.

Have one myself and these knives and really good just make sure u don't leave them soaking in the washing up bowl and they prefer to be cleaned and dried quickly.

It looks like an expensive piece of specialisation and it is. But what the hell? If you need to cut a tomato into 20 slices without getting juice and seeds all over your worktop, or simply want the end off your finger, you can't do better.

if you are serious about cooking,then these are a modern classic.i am an ex-butcher so i do know my knives.expensive,but not the most expensive out there.start off with the "offers" set.then build upas you go!drop hints for bdays and xmas!!

I read the reviews and persuaded my husband to get me this knife. Yes it cuts well, skins like a dream BUT if your tomato is bigger then 5 cm in diameter then watch out for slipping and cut fingers. I eventually bought a GS-14 which is much better and will do other things as well. This tomato knife is only used occasionally now on small tomatoes. Possibly a bit of a waste of money.

Fabulous knife - cuts through veggies with ease and looks amazing, too! My only concern is that there is an indentation where the handle joins the blade - like it wasn't a smooth joining when being made. I'm hoping it won't start to pit after use.
