This adapter fit perfectly in the Legion Go and allowed me to upgrade the storage from my 2242 1TB up to a 2280 4TB. Now between the 4TB SSD and 1 TB microSD, I don't have to worry about my changing mood on which games I'm feeling at a time. Just note that most likely, you will have to shave down some protrusions on the backplate of the Legion Go to fit the 2280.

Changed out the 1tb drive in my rog ally to a 2tb and used this adapter to put the 1tb in my Lenovo t480

I bought this to upgrade the SSD in my ROG ally. I was nervous because there weren't many reviews at the time, but this works great. I've been using my ally /a ton/ especially while traveling over the holidays and it's been working fine. No overheating with the bigger NVME or anything. I got the Samsung 990 Pro on a black Friday deal and this is what I used to install it. I didn't use my ally at all before installing the new SSD, so I can't speak to how big the improvement feels, but it was easy to do the cloud restore and this thing made it really easy to install. I did buy a copped heatsink but it make it too thick, so I got the silicon sticker one instead and that worked great

Not sure what's up with this, but X1 Gen7 doesn't see neither 2280 2T Samsung, nor the 2230 1T Sabrnet. Both working fine in native SSD slot, but not in WWAN one with this thingy.

I did not do any speed tests to compare but everything seems to work.

This adapter works perfectly for me! It lets you use a 2230 nvme drive in a 2242 slot. Since the release of the steam deck and similar portable handheld pcs, 2230 drives have become increasingly common, more so than 2242 at the moment. So this adapter is a great way to take advantage of that fact.I use this with a Lenovo Thinkpad T480. On this laptop, the wwan slot can accept at 2242 ssd instead. It is only running with 2 pcie lines however, so it isn't recommended for uses where speed is a necessity. I personally use it for extra storage and a secondary OS, and for that it works great!

As the title says, it didn't work after I installed into my computer (mutter, mutter, mumble mumble). I couldn't even get the computer to power up; even the power switch pilot light wouldn't come on. I tried replacing the cable that came, which was a sleeved cable that was 50cm long instead of the 40cm ribbon cable that was advertised, with a 40CM ribbon cable I ordered but no joy. I also swapped out SSDs to see if it might be the problem; still no joy. The computer worked just fine after I took out the contraption and reinstalled the SSD in it's original location.Great idea but lousy implementation.

This adapter is a lifesaver! I have an M.2 slot that will support NVMe SSDs (not SATA) but has a B-Keyed socket. Be aware that because this has the B-slot (as well as the M-slot), it does (or should) reduce the maximum bandwidth of NVMe SSDs. It's working great for me!For those in a similar situation: Mine is a ThinkPad T580, where the 2242 M.2 WWAN slot can accept an NVMe SSD, but it has a B-Keyed socket. This allowed me to use an M-keyed SSD (2230), giving me access to larger capacity drives and a wider selection of them! This information should also apply to the ThinkPad T480.

Ich frage mich ja immer wieder wieso man solche Dinge wie diesen M.2 NVMe Riser nicht in Fachgeschäften in der Umgebung bekommt, und nur hier auf (einerseits Gott sei Dank) Amazon, oder anderen Online Plattformen die ebenfalls mit "A" bzw "e" anfangen.Es sind doch essentielle Komponenten im PC Bereich. Und trotzdem, zumindest im deutschen Fachhandel anscheinend zu speziell. Naja, genug Gedanken laut ausgesprochen, kommen wir zum Produkt ...Da ich ja, wie in anderen Rezensionen von mir bereits erwähnt, an einem etwas außergewöhnlichen DIY-Projekt meinen PC betreffend arbeite, brauche ich auch aktuell öfters nicht alltägliche PC- Komponenten.Diesen M.2-Riser Adapter hier brauchte ich unter anderem deshalb, weil bei meinem Mainboard der M.2 Steckplatz im Kühlkörper des MB-Chipsatzes sitzt (Gigabyte X570i Aorus Pro WiFi), weshalb meine NVMe SSD alleine schon durch den Chipsatz ordentlich aufgeheizt wurde. Im Idle hatte ich nach nicht mal 10 Minuten schon 65°C auf der SSD.Was sich die Ingenieure bei diesem Design gedacht haben den M.2 Steckplatz so zu platzieren erschließt sich mir bis heute nicht.Wie dem auch sei, ich suchte aufgrund dessen nach einer Lösung, und fand sie in diesem M.2-Riser Adapter. Wenngleich dieser auch wohl für ein anderes Produkt gedacht ist, funktioniert er für meine Zwecke nicht minder schlechter.Ich konnte mit diesem Adapter meine SSD aus der Hitzezange des Chipsatzes befreien und nach außen führen.Dies klappte auch auf Anhieb und mein PC bootete danach ganz normal hoch, so als sei nichts gewesen. Auch nach jetzt mittlerweile 3 Tagen in Gebrauch habe ich keinerlei Probleme wie Abstürze o.ä..Der Adapter selbst wirkt sehr hochwertig und super verarbeitet. Es stinkt nichts, ist wackelig oder ungenau verarbeitet. Die Stecker und Buchsen des Riser Kabels passen saugend und sitzen stramm in den Buchsen.Einzig was man vielleicht noch verbessern könnte, das soll aber jetzt keine Kritik, eher ein Verbesserungsvorschlag sein, die Kanten der Platinen wirken leicht scharfkantig. Ist nicht wirklich gravierend und ich habe mir beim verbauen auch keine schweren Schnittverletzungen zugezogen, aber wirklich schön ist es auch nicht. Aber gut, vielleicht ist es auch nur mein persönliches Empfinden, und jemand anderes ist mit den Kanten der Platinen völlig zufrieden.Die Schreib-/Leseraten meiner SSD haben durch den Adapter leicht gelitten. Hatte ich vorher Schreib-/Leseraten von ~6530 zu ~3860MB, sind es mit dem Adapter nach mehreren Tests jetzt im Schnitt nur noch ~5920 zu 3140MB.Das hatte ich allerdings erwartet das durch den Riser hier Verluste in der Leistung kommen. Allerdings, und das finde ich persönlich sehr positiv, sind die Verluste geringer als ich befürchtet habe. Zumal ich zum aktuellen Zeitpunkt auch noch gar nicht zu 100% sagen kann, ob es alleinig am M.2-Riser Adapter liegt, und/oder an der Tatsache das in meinem PC-Setup durch verengte Verhältnisse wie einhergehend der Tatsache wie ich das Riserkabel des Adapters verlegen musste, es hier zu Störeinstahlungen kommt. Das Riserkabel ist ja nun mal eine Datenleitung, und diese liegt jetzt in meinem PC-Setup gemeinsam eng an eng zusammen mit den Stromkabeln zur Grafikkarte, ARGB Kabeln, Lüfter Stromkabeln etc. im Gehäuse.Und wer sich ein wenig mit Elektrotechnik wie PC Technik auskennt weiß, was teils hier für Ströme fließen und was fließender Strom in Kabeln noch für Phänomene hervorrufen kann.Da wundert es mich wie bereits erwähnt "im positiven" das der Datendurchsatz bei mir mit diesem M.2-Riser Adapter so gering ausfällt.Also zumindest für mich und meine Zwecke was ich so mit dem PC mache. Für jemand anderen mag dieser Verlust an Datendurchsatz gewaltig sein. Das kann und mag ich nicht beurteilen, und überlasse es dem geneigten Leser meiner Rezension selbst, ob ihm das zuviel ist oder vertretbar.Mir ist in erster Linie wichtig meine M.2 NVMe vor dem Hitzetod zu schützen, was mir dieser Adapter perfekt ermöglicht. Im Idle habe ich jetzt gerade mal nur noch ~29-31°C im Idle (bei 22°C Raumtemperatur) auf der SSD. So muss das :-)Von mir jedenfalls gibt es volle ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sterne für den Adapter und eine klare Kaufempfehlung.

In mijn nieuwe laptop zat uitsluitend 512 mb sd 2242 !?!? Mijn eerste taak was dus een andere M2 zoeken.De grap is dat er meer en grotere 2230 zijn dan 2242. Dus heb ik een 2GB 2230 gekocht die ik waarschijnlijk met enige handigheid wel op zijn plaats had weten te houden, maar ik hoorde dat er ook verloopjes waren.Die heb ik dus besteld. Inpassen is een fluitje van een cent. Het ding past goed en werkte direct en wees nou eerlijk voor die prijs wil je niet in je laptop gaan rommelen, met alle kansen op een mislukking. De bevestiging werkt ook prima dus een zorg minder.

Works for my Asus Prime Z690-A motherboard. Able to extend 2 NVMe slots to outside chassis. Now swapping NVMe drives is a lot easier. Without this I have to buy expensive 300 bucks NVMe enclosure to swap drives externally.

Fits perfectly into my ally once you break off the attached small red piece of PCB. Not entirely sure what the small screw is for.Was scratching my head as to how the SSD is supposed to be held down, and after some thourough googling I found out that you unscrew the right fan bracket screw and use that screw to hold the little red piece of PCB in place to then hold down the SSD.Would have been nice to include that picture in the description but it seems all the pictures are cropped specifically to hide that fact. I have included pictures in this review so hopefully buyers in the future know what to do!
