Very useful and well made set
Had to wait a few days to review these as it’s been banging down with rain. I am busy renewing the front suspension and steering for my fixer upper 2011 Hilux and the front tie rods have corroded to the point where they’re difficult to adjust. In conjunction with a good soaking in Plusgas plus some heat this tool set helped with the removal a treat. It’s good having different sizes and they can take a fair clout. As someone who is fixing up their own vehicle, these are not tools I’m going to use every week, but when you need them this is a good, sturdy set at a great price. They come in a moulded case so don’t have to clank around in the toolbox.

Heavy cased set of ball joint splitters in different widths.
This arrives in Toolzone branding in a blow moulded strong case. Normally these are single piece tools and take a real hammering in seized up ball joint situations. This set is different in that you get three ends of different widths and a pair or driving handles. One is to hammer and the other is an air hammer attachment. The ends are cast metal, presumably cast iron and they are threaded with very coarse threads. Clearly this needs to be screwed deep into the shaft and locked with the nut to avoid simply breaking the threads. I have removed a star as the cast ends threads on our set are very rusty. In fact its leaked into the case as dust. We have oiled the set to prevent this but it should have been done in the factory. The "gaps" in the forks are 16mm, 23mm, and 26.5mm approx. Clearly when you crack a ball joint with these you tend to split the rubber seals so ensure you have the new ones to hand before using! Not a bad set but oil/ grease the threads up in the castings upon arrival.
