Great sound quality, ease of use. Nice, "heavy" as in quality, and not cheap built. Yet the receivers are not any heavier then a regular good quality, land-line phone receiver. One thing we've noticed is the sound is plenty loud at the lowest cell phone setting and and I am hard of hearing and use land-line phones specially made for hearing impaired people at home. The primary reason we purchased was/is the minimizing of radiation when used with a cell phone. Colors are cute. Lots of positive comments by people who see us using the colored receivers. This is our 4th order. Have given them out to a friend, 2 doctors, and family. Elderly can hear better then with a regular cell phone alone and much more comfortable. Everybody but one so far has commented on them profusely and loves them! The one who hasn't commented is a doctor we haven't had a chance to see since we sent it to him as a gift. One of our doctors upon receiving it called us and was very grateful as he is doing a lot of voice correspondence with the corona virus going on with his patients and appreciated the minimizing of radiation when using a cell phone. He absolutely loved it! One thing we noticed is people are simply not aware these are out there except for one relative who we found out has been using one. We've had ours for about 2-3 months with no problems. Purchased 7 so far. They make great, useful and unique gifts. BTW...we had a major problem with DHL delivering and having our last order on hold for a week or so. We finally got a hold of OPIS and they gave me a link to AmazonUK and we finally got almost instant response and delivery from DHL who we had spent several hours over 6 days getting the "run around" and 4 missed deliveries. That said....OPIS responded to my 2 emails probably within about 10 minutes each time. Can't say how your experience will be if you buy these but ours has been great except for 1 delivery issue. I will probably order again to give away as gifts. Love the pink, red, blue and teal colors, those are the ones we bought. Good luck! That said I pretty much always look at the 1 or 2 star comments to see why people don't like something and weigh it with all the positive comments. I've found this to be of great benefit when purchasing and I think has saved me a lot of trouble. Very happy with the OPIS retro receivers.

The handset arrived next day delivery! I'm impressed! I decided to get rid of my landline for a saving of £204/year by replacing my landline phone with my 4G mobile phone. (My Huawei P20 Pro Smartphone does not have an earphone socket, but came with a USB C adapter that plugs into the mobile USB C socket into which the "60s MICRO PHONE" plugs in, and it works perfectly). I installed a guitar hanger above where my landline phone used to sit which works really well as a secure holder for the phone, and connects with my mobile phone that rests on the shelf that was used for my landline phone. (see photo). The reason that I was looking for a handset like this was because it occurred to me that using my mobile phone more at home would mean greater exposure to microwave radiation. So after a bit of Googling I discovered this retro handset on Amazon which arrived today, and I am well pleased! 😁😁😁 I was initially skeptical about the quality and performance of this handset because I had read very negative reviews of similar handsets that had a wireless/Bluetooth connection with on/off switch and volume control but quality of the speaker was seriously criticised. By contrast reviews of this "60s MICRO" were very positive. And I received a prompt and reassuring response to an email that I sent to the Seller. The handset itself has a quality and solid feel to it. This is NOT a cheap plastic TOY. There are no buttons to press and no batteries. You select 'Answer' or 'Reject' on your mobile. When the call is ended it automatically closes the connection when the Caller hangs up. I've made a couple of calls today to mobiles and the call quality at both ends was good. I was concerned that I wouldn't hear the "60s MICRO'phone ring when plugged in, but it is my mobile that gives a good clear, loud, ring, so no way I would miss a call. And both phone handset and mobile phone can be taken anywhere in the house just like a cordless phone. I am able to access the Internet on my mobile whilst the "60s MICRO" is plugged in. I have also used the handset with WhatsApp and connection and sound quality were good. This 'simple' handset does everything that my landline does, and much more. And you don't have to be technically minded to use it. It couldn't be simpler. Most importantly it reduces exposure to microwave radiation when making frequent or lengthy telephone calls.

I bought this handset to use with my iPhone 7, and was initially disappointed when it would not work, even with a lightning to 3.5mm jack adaptor fitted. Luckily I read a previous review which advised that you need the correct adaptor as some of them are designed for headphones only and will not enable the microphone. I purchased a genuine Apple adaptor and "hey presto" instant success, plug and play, that's it. Physically it seems well made, heavy-ish, sound quality is lacking a bit of bass compared to the phone itself but not a problem, otherwise it's loud & clear (volume is controlled by the phone itself) and very easy to use.

Man beachte den Nachtrag. Funktionalität ist ein eher zweitrangiges Kriterium beim Kauf dieses Handyhörers, primär geht es wohl eher um Optik, Spaßfaktor und die Hoffnung, irgendwann einmal wieder einen massiven Telefonhörer in der Hand halten zu können. Optisch ist der Handyhörer ansprechend, auch wenn sich der Hersteller am unteren Hörerende in weißer Farbe verewigt hat. Man muss nicht viele Worte über die Funktionalität des Hörers verlieren: Einstecken, telefonieren. Das Gegenüber hört sich mit dem Hörer deutlich besser an als am Handy selbst (HTC Desire Z). Es gibt keinerlei Zusatzfunktionen, keinen Schnickschnack. Leicht enttäuscht war ich vom Gewicht, das ich mir deutlich höher vorgestellt hatte, nachdem das Gerät zumindest von der Optik her die alten Telefonhörer nachahmt. Des Rätsels Lösung fand sich unfreiwilligerweise auch im Hauptgrund für die Rücksendung zwecks Umtauschs: Die Sprechmuschel war leider angebrochen, so dass sich die Abdeckung immer wieder leicht löste und dabei das Innenleben freilegte. Keine aufwendige Technik, ein paar verklebte Kabel, das ist es auch schon. Angesichts der geringen Stärke des Kunststoffs und des geringen Gewichts bin ich nicht mehr hundertprozentig von diesem Produkt überzeugt, werde ihm aber nach erfolgtem Umtausch eine neuerliche Chance geben. Es ist in jedem Fall angenehmer, den Telefonhörer zwischen Schulter und Ohr einzuklemmen, wenn man sich Notizen macht, als ebendies mit dem sehr dünnen Handy zu tun oder sich einen Stöpsel in den Gehörgang zu friemeln. Über die Langlebigkeit des Produktes kann ich keine Angaben machen, allzu heftig sollte man aber im Frust den Hörer nicht auf den Tisch knallen. Was mit den alten Hörern kein Problem war, würde bei diesem Modell sicher zum Bruch führen. Nachtrag: Der Umtausch funktionierte ohne Probleme. Der Mailkontakt war sehr freundlich, nach erfolgter Rücksendung kam das Feedback, dass es sich um ein eigentlich unverkäufliches Warenmuster gehandelt hat, das es im Vorweihnachtstrubel unbeabsichtigt in den Verkauf schaffte. Tatsächlich ist die Verarbeitung beim nun ausgetauschten Exemplar sauber, der Hörer fühlt sich wertig an, die Kabelkontakte sitzen fest, das Herstellerlogo ist deutlich kleiner und dezenter, an der einfachen Bedienung hat sich nichts geändert, auch die Sprachqualität ist überzeugend. Als Wiedergutmachung für die entstandenen Umstände legte der Hersteller gleich ein zweites Exemplar in gelb bei, das ebenso gut verarbeitet ist wie die schwarze Version. Angesichts des jetzt einwandfreien Exemplars ändert sich meine Bewertung auf die volle Punktzahl, denn der optische, haptische und Spaß-Faktor sind nach wie vor ausschlaggebend für den Kauf gewesen, die Qualität stimmt auch, und die Kundenbetreuung ist ebenfalls vorbildlich. Empfehlenswert.
