My sons martial arts class is using this for kicks, punches and combination drills. This is sturdy and is great for this particular activity.

I use this to train with my son. He’s kicking a lot harder now so this thick pad is very welcome tool. It’s very thick and very sturdy. It’s very well-made. The straps and stitching are also very strong. I think it’s gonna last a long time.

At first, this seemed nice. The material seems smooth, almost like faux leather but not quite. I like the straps and how this is one solid piece inside. However, with only two barefoot kicks it was scuffing/rubbing the skin off my feet. It is also much firmer than the similar looking shields we use at Taekwondo. This may be good for things other than martial arts, or even for martial arts if you have a shield on your feet with it. But I am not happy I can't use it as I do the bags at class.

I can imagine it would be great for lots of different things. Punching kicking. The cover is a very thick durable canvas. I plan on having kids hit it with bats to make sure they have a Palm up Palm down at contact.
