Very good value for money and works well
I bought this to illuminate music on my grand piano (see photo). I wanted something reasonably wide, rechargeable and able to be clipped to the music stand. I wasn't expecting miracles for just over 20 quid but the light has been a pleasant surprise. It's well-made with a very strong padded clip, it is flexible so easily adjusted and gives a strong, even light which can be set to two levels of brightness. USB chargeable, the charge lasts several hours so it can be used without having annoying wires in the way. A very decent buy for the money that does the job nicely.

Bright, even light, versatile and portable
The light arrived 2 days earlier than expected, ready for me to use at orchestra in our less than adequately lit rehearsal space where I play viola. I wanted a lamp to 1), securely attach to my flimsy, no-frills, fold-up music stand; 2), provide enough coverage to evenly light a large double-page spread of music; and 3), not produce any kind of flare or light overspill that could potentially dazzle anyone.I’m pleased to report that the lamp satisfies all of these requirements:1), it has a strong, though bulky, clip (more on that later) at the base which, when pushed well down the top of the stand, firmly grips the stand’s metal centre with rubber pads and the top spring clip housing locks into the stand's lyre shaped crown to form a solid “joint”: (PHOTO);2), the coverage, evenness, and brightness of the light are outstanding: (PHOTO); and3), because the LEDs are recessed into the casing, when adjusted correctly light is directed onto the page and nowhere else.MORE PLUS POINTS* Portable: Multi Light (folded up into its original packing box) and music stand will fit into a small music bag measuring 14½” / 368mm (W) x 11½” / 292mm (H) x 2” / 51mm (D) with space to spare: (PHOTO);* Light output bright enough to read a double-page spread of music lit only by itself in a darkened room. Also tested with 3 pages totalling 30” / 762mm wide (on a larger stand!) and these too were perfectly illuminated, but 30” / 762mm is about the limit of coverage;* Gooseneck support infinitely adjustable for lamp angle. Length (10" / 254mm) is just right. Holds light head steady;* On / off push switches on the back of the lights are slightly recessed so no chance of accidental switching on when in a carry bag;* Versatile: as well as the advertised booklight functionality, it can be used free-standing as a hobby light or to light up any dark corner, the clip doubling to form a sturdy base. If gooseneck adjusted correctly the light won’t fall over.SURMOUNTABLE MINUS POINTS* Battery Charging. The light is supplied with a Power Supply Unit with colour changing charging light, (red for “charging”, green for “charged”), and a 6½ foot / 1.99m long detachable USB / 3mm hollow (female) jack socket charging cable. The provided instruction sheet: (PHOTO), says that it’s possible to charge the battery from your computer using just the cable, but the cable or clip doesn’t incorporate a charging light, so if you want to use this method, there’s no way of telling when the battery is fully loaded. I prefer to connect the supplied PSU with the cable to the light;* The Clip. As mentioned above the lamp base clip, though strong, is quite bulky: (PHOTO). The top half of the clip measures ⅛ inch / 3mm thick at its base and ¼ inch / 6mm thick at its head. It also curves outwards by 1⅝ inch / 40mm from a stand. This means that when the clip is attached to the stand, any paper, e.g. music copy, put onto the stand will not sit flat: it will be pushed out by the clip at the centre/binding. I have overcome this by using a long piece of card resting on the stand horizontally to support the music with a glued spacer (made with small squares of card pasted together) at each end of the card top, the spacers positioned so they meet with the top bar of the stand: (PHOTO).UPDATE 15/06/19: my stand “desk” - the platform the music is supported on - is fairly small. I’ve tested the clip with larger desks and they reduce / eliminate the flatness problem because the clip sits higher up, away from the music copy.OTHER POINTS* Colour temperature: 5500 - 6000K (slight bluish white);* Usability time / battery life at full output from new full battery: ~2 hours;* Charging time at 240v (UK standard voltage) transformed to 5v 1A with supplied charger from new empty battery to full battery: ~4½ hours. All in all a great accessory, but a 4-star rating rather than 5 because of the minus points listed and the low usability time / battery life at full output: just about enough light for a 2-hour rehearsal, no more.UPDATE: Connect an external battery to increase the usability time considerably: (PHOTO). The one I use adds a quoted extra 24 hours to the internal battery life - woohoo!

Excellent stand light!
This is the best stand light I've ever used. Although it feels quite heavy and I was concerned my ancient stand may not be up to supporting it, the clip is wide and deep which balances the light perfectly. Due to being able to open out the light wings (for want of a better description) my music is evenly bathed in light - the flexible neck of the light can be adjusted in every direction, so there are no shadows even on the largest sized sheet music. The light settings are perfect. The brightest is very bright and so far, I've not had to use it as the second (lowest) setting is perfectly adequate. Due to only using the lowest setting I'm getting a lot of playing time out of a full charge. It will easily do a 4 hour rehearsal (continuous use) and then several 1 hour practices through the week before it becomes noticeably dimmer. Not sure how long it takes to charge as I leave it over night when it's not in use. I'm not sure how essential the charger is as the lead from light to charger is a simple micro usb - however I did note when I attempted charging from my PC, and on another occasion from a different usb plug, it didn't seem to charge when left overnight. This is no biggy for now as I have the charger, but should that break or become lost, will I have an issue then? The charger has a light on it that indicates when the light needs charging (red light) and when it's fully charged (green light) which is very helpful. The light will also work when plugged into the charger even when the battery is on empty which is useful, though the micro usb is quite short so I needed to be very close to the plug.

Brilliant
This is the second one I brought. For me it's ideal. It last long enough, it's more than bright enough, even for my 77 year old eyes. The folding arms make it easy to slip into my music rucksack, along with my clarinet. Perfect. Why did I buy a second one? The charger is a USB voltage, 5V. The battery is a li-ion 3.5V, It works well, but, the socket on the lamp is not a mini USB, it's a 12V round pin. Guess what? when I used a 12V charger by mistake. It started to burn, melt and smoke, and then the lights were on for 12 hours. It wouldn't turn off even though the charger was only on for a few minutes. I won't make that mistake again!!

Great value piano light, but poorly quality
I needed a cordless and bright light for my piano, as it's stuck in a dark corner. The LED light from LNSTUDIO has made a big difference. The LED lights are very bright, with 2 settings, it's fully directional and clips easily into the music ready. I've only had it a few days so I can't comment yet on durability or battery life. But so far so good. Delivery was also very quick. However, a couple of months after buying it, the button for one of the light switches has broken. No simple way to open the light unit up to fix the button, and it won't pop out. As with so many things that are cheap - don't expect them to last long!
