Plug and Play
I plugged this straight into my Mac Mini and it was recognized instantly without driver, just pure plug-and-play. Home Assistant (Virtualbox) picked it up via Z-Wave JS without a hitch. My house is two stories with a decent-sized backyard, and this single stick handles everything. Even my furthest outdoor sensors stay connected with zero latency.

Works for smart hub.
Connects my smart home just fine. Small profile. Quick. Easy install and connection to proxmox and Home Assistant on a beelink miniPC.

Great Z-Wave dongle. Great range. Easy to integrate with Home Assistant via Zwave-JS-UI
This dongle is working great with Home Assistant via Zwave-JS-UI, both running in a Docker container. I have been very impressed with the stability of Z-Wave vs Zigbee (primarily due to its use of 800 MHz vs 2.4 GHz signaling), and am contemplating moving more of my home automation and monitoring items to Z-Wave because of the stability and range which I need for the various things I want to track in our home and outbuildings.

Z-Wave Home
Easy to setup with Home Assistant. I started with the 'Z-Wave JS UI' instead and added the 'Z-Wave' official plugin after to get more data. Much cheaper then the official Home Assistant hardware withe the same ability. Connected my new door lock with ease.

Good but probably better for small, short-range applications
Nothing wrong with it, and it's stable for a small apartment or tiny home Zwave network. However, if you have a larger home and want to actually use LR devices (say you don't have power 150 ft away to put a repeater...) then a larger ZWA antenna might be better. That said, this thing never dropped a connection, it just struggled with long range.

Firmware finally stable!
Updated review 1.5 years later (Dec 2025): I upgraded the firmware that got released in June 2025 (1.60). I was able to upgrade from my Aeotec 700 series very easily. My network is very stable. Even more stable than with the 700. I've been able to connect my Long Range devices using the new LR pairing protocol. I'm very pleased with the product. ---------------- Disclaimer: I have several Zooz devices that I am very happy with. I had high expectations for this controller. But as soon as I installed it, my z-wave network became intermittently unresponsive due to the controller "freezing". One way to recover was to perform a Soft Reset on the controller. This is a known issue tracked by Silicon Labs (providing core technology in this device) and impacting both Zooz and Aeotec running software based on SDK 7.19.3+. I was having the exact same issue with my Aeotec 700 controller and was only resolved by downgrading to firmware 7.18.8. I realize other buyers are happy with it, so my issue may be related to the size of my network (66 z-wave devices). Otherwise, I was able to include my 800LR devices and it was very cool to see. I will happily change my rating once I receive a firmware upgrade that makes my device usable.
