Review of Amazon Warehouse Deal Version/Experience of Sterling Silver Pen
I purchased this Cross Sterling Silver Century pen as an Amazon Warehouse deal, so I was happy to receive a rather generous discount over both the RRP and the price of a new pen from Amazon. The item was described as having a damaged box/packaging, the outer box is ripped cardboard, the gift box itself also has part of the yellow 'ribbon' coming away at one side. Not a complaint as it was described as such, otherwise the packaging is good. It's a larger box than normal for a single Cross pen, not sure if you buy a new Silver pen if you get this size of box (normally for a twin gift set I would imagine) or the standard single sized box.The pen itself arrived tarnished, slightly more than pictured (pictures were taken after some rubbing with Kitchen roll which didn't remove much). This is a Sterling Silver pen and silver does tarnish, I have compared it next to the far cheaper Chrome Cross Century pen.I simply purchased a silver cleaning cloth from a local supermarket (I was expecting to need to do this when I purchased the pen and before receiving it). After a very brief and easy clean with the cloth, the pen has come up a treat and presumably now looks as a new pen would. Presumably the pen was returned tarnished, and may have been sitting in stock for a while, so I was expecting it to be tarnished.Still a lightweight and slim pen as you would expect from a Century Cross pen, the opening closing mechanism is a lot smoother than the approximately 4 week old Chrome pen (I bought this new from Amazon), and certainly feels of a higher quality than the Chrome pen. Though I also wouldn't hesitate to recommend the chrome pen.In short the the Cross Classic Century pen, is truly of classic design, they are made in China now but I wouldn't let that put you off. Also, Amazon Warehouse deals are likely to be very much as described and when/if available an option to consider over buying new.

Beautiful pen
This pen was a present from my husband and I love it! It looks so elegant and writes nicely, I got a lot of compliments on it. It is small in diameter so it is better for those with small hands-it is smaller in diameter than a standard biro so it takes a bit of getting used to at first. The price is good too, my husband got it on special offer, it's much better value than other gold pens but looks just as good. It's very easy to change the refills too, I'd recommend buying a few at the same time as the pen, I got about two weeks of daily writing at work out of each refill ( I do a lot of writing at work)

This is what I wanted
Had a few lower budget cross pens but this one takes the cake. This is a gorgeous low profile pen. I had the cross century II and I hated it. It was too heavy and too bulky. My hand would hurt writing with it.This is the perfect pen for someone who writes everyday. It writes great and it doesn't break your hand in the process. Im sure there are better pens out there at a higher price but at the sub £30 mark, there is no better pen. Refills last long and they are not expensive.

This is a very nice looking pen
This is a very nice looking pen.... i had been looking for an appropriate christening present for my nephew and decided on this mainly because i was given one for my christening and it was one of the only things i actually found a use for when i grew up.The cross pens used to be manufactured in Ireland (Where my own pen was made) but the company have since moved manufacturing to China. This has, in my eyes, had a slightly detrimental effect on the build qaulity. Dont get me wrong, it is still a well made pen, fits nicely in the hand and writes well, i cannot comment as to how long the pen will last as i only recieved it today. the wieght difference between the Irish built version and the Chinese version is minimal and only noticeable if your really looking for it but this might be enough to put people off who have always used the Irish built version and who may may be looking for a replacement etc. The only other thing i would comment on is the twist mechanism. On the Irish model the twist is completely smooth and silent whereas on this one it does make a slight noise as you turn it. A bit picky i know, but then again if your looking to buy a nice pen then you probably will be slightly picky about things like that. All round it is still a good pen and i am happy with the purchase

Slim, Elegant and Writes Perfectly
This was a replacement for a Cross Classic that I had had for many years and which very sadly I had lost recently.I find that when a company specialises in a product, in this case writing instruments, then most of the time they can be depended upon to deliver the goods and Cross does that.I was amazed at the Amazon price and with PRIME snapped this beauty up.I knew from many years of use what I was getting and although the lovely presentation box that it came in is very suitable for a gift it is the slim design of this elegant pen that I am attracted to.The pen writes perfectly.Even in these days of keyboards one should never be without a quality pen and this one delivers.

Very slim and very nice pen - becoming rare!
Very thin pen - about the thickness of a pencil.Very hard to find this original verion fountain pen with a fine nib.Cross sells the Century Medallist 2 now and it comes with a push close cap - this is the pen that I use daily but the pen in the review for the special days - as it is a rare pen!It is thin and feels more like jewelkery than a pen - but that adds to the goodness of this! Just do not drop it as you might not be able to find a replacement.

Smooth operator
Having already bought my husband the Century Classic fountain pen and pencil, I thought I'd get him the ball pen, as he loves the other two so much. I wasn't disappointed. Like the fountain pen and pencil, it's an absolutely beautiful pen, very slim, with a fine line patterning on the case. Despite being so slim, it's still a reasonable weight, and sits in the hand very nicely. It's a very classic looking pen, and looks more expensive than it actually is. It would make a lovely gift for either sex. All in all, a very elegant pen.

Luxurious
Lost my favorite Cross ball point pen and decided to splurge on an upgrade for my birthday. The 14K gold is highly polished and sleek. It's an understated luxury that is quietly sophisticated. Even if no one else notices, you know. A special gift.

Writes beautifully!
I had a cross pen a long time ago, my parents bought me one for school, I used it until the chrome wore off.It went missing & I always wanted to replace it.These write so clean, no ink globs, smooth, just lovely to use.
