Elgato Tivizen DVB-T TV/Sat Card, Radio Reception

This is a sexy gadget. It is small and perfectly formed but all this counts for naught if it doesn't do it's job.Setting up is easy; download the control app, follow the instructions and away you go - if it can obtain any channels. I've bought an extendable aerial from Maplins, which I've chopped the end off to slip over the tiny aerial on this device. Now, when I stand in a particular spot in my garden I can obtain 10 digital channels.I'm hoping that when I take this caravanning (which is actually why I bought it) I'll be able to get more channels in an open field.I'm just hoping that it will live up to it's looks.

I bought this gadget in order to have digital TV & signal on my iPad 1st gen ...It was waste of time ! The iPad 1 couldn't make it !! Terrible Digital Signal , indoor or outdoor and the app ( DVB-T tivizen ) was crashed all the time at my iPad! It was a great surprise to discover that the device was working fine at my android Samsung Galaxy SII ! Amazing Digital Signal outdoors , at my car , and indoor at my house ! I realize then that this cool device and its app need more powerful processor ! So , be aware! This is not good product for original ipad !!

I was looking for a way to watch Freeview Tv on my iPad ( not having access to wifi at home). Rather than running up huge mobile data charges on 3G this device seemed to be the perfect solution.However I was sadly disappointed. Although I live in a good freeview reception area ( getting all the standard channels from a rooftop aerial), the Tivizen didn't detect any channels at all !!!!! I tried the device in several different locations - eventually I managed to pick up a few channels by holding the device as high as possible against a window facing the London transmitter. Even then the signal strength was so weak the channels were unwatchable.Suffice it to say the device is being returned to Amazon. If you intend buying one of these make sure you have absolutely full strength freeview reception......even then you might be struggling :-(

What a great item. Very easy to use. I have it attached to my iPad and iPhone using the free app.It needs the usual signal finding exercise. I ended up going round my office several times to find the best spot but the picture quality is fab. It is very portable. My two concerns are that the USB cover is very fragile and I can see that breaking off before long. The aerial is also very slim and could come a cropper if you are not careful. I will certainly try and find a case to carry this in. This wouldn't deter me from getting one again though.I haven't tested the battery to its limits yet but I would highly recommend this TV tuner.

Poor reception indoor.... I try. To placed it by the window but still the reception is very poor .. Well in outdoor it works very good... Is there anymore way or technic how can you get a good reception indoor... I'm using netgear wgr 614v4 and a virgin media 30 mg broadband... Thanks

I recieved this product and while it works well with my Motorola Xoom Android tablet, it is suppose to allow you to hook up to a PC as it states in the description, but the item does not have any software or activation key in my box to use with PC/laptop, etc. So it's either ipad or android only!!! It will charge via USB from the PC, but the Tivizen is not even recognized as a USB device. If your looking for a device to be able to watch tv on your PC better off buying a USB dongle Tuner. Only gave it three stars as even though it works ok and I can get 56 channels on my xoom, the inability to use it on a laptop really lets it down as it's a false description in the ad!

I live in Devon where the signal for tv is not always good and have found this tuner works most places.works well with my iPad 2 at home and out and about.was delivered very quickly as well .
