Starry Night

This collection sung by Julio Iglesias is a selection of covers. The sound is gentle, none of the typical Spanish Julio genre. The songs are all well known and sung in English. The originals were done by the likes of Elvis Presley, Leo Sayer, The Beatles, Charles Aznavour, Don McLean and others. All this makes for a very nice, easy listening CD.

Er ist der Weltmeister im Bereich der Schmusesongs, ohne zu schnulzig zu werden, Grandios einfach, der erfolgreichste Einzelinterpret Europas aller Zeiten, sein Sohn hatte leider versucht in seine Fussstapfen zu treten, was ein Fehler war. Ein geniales Original kann man nie erreichen.

this has got to be the smoothest album ever produced. it's like you're gliding along a wintery tundra, the cold distant sun shining down on you, and yet you are enveloped with warmth like so many woolen blankets.i'm not sure exactly how this production motif was concocted or exactly which synth sounds were employed, but good lord does it work. when i've got a nighttime flight, and the airplane ascends above the ever-more-distant city lights below, i'll play track 3 - 'mona lisa' and the result is the most peaceful sensation i could ever describe. or on a lazy, hot summer afternoon - i'll play track 7 - '99 miles from l.a.' and it may as well be god's soundtrack. during the melancholy overnight hours, i'll play track 9 - 'if you go away' and it'll hurt so good you won't want the pain to go away.the other tracks are gems as well. this record is, in my opinion, the biggest and brightest diamond in the rough that i've yet found.

The song Starry Night was used as sound background for a Van Gogh center table arrangement at a major picnic event and was very appropriate!

This was the first Julio Iglesias CD/album/cassette I ever bought, and I bought it for Starry Starry Night. I love his gentle treatment of this and other of my favorite songs on the CD.

I go to sleep each night, lulled to sleep to his soothing, romantic voice. It's an exceptional collection of songs, so perfect, that despite some being in Spanish, and I don't understand every word . . . bottom line, it's wonderful.

smooth mellow music

I first heard this CD about 16 years ago, and I moved several times since then, and I lost the original CD. Thanks to Amazon, I found it again :-) I think this is one of Julio Iglesia's all time classic.

Used to have this on tape and missed listening to it. Ordered a CD and couldn't love it more. Beautiful!

Really enjoy the album. Got here quickly. All's well with this purchase. The only things is, could someone purchase Julio a pair of socks.

I have always like Iglesias and this is one of his best. I particularly like the song 'Starry Night' which is one of my all time favorite songs.
