Only used to chamfer a handful of m12 t-nuts so far, but a very nice finish, no edge damage or scuffs to the coating. Remember, this is NOT a titanium coating as stated in other reviews! TiN is titanium nitride, which is an extremely hard ceramic coating, and customarily yellow/gold in appearance.Would absolutely recommend at this price!

Great value countersinks, copes with everything I throw at them. Work well in both the pillar drill or cordless drill.Good quality tin box to keep them safe in as well as a bonus.

These countersink bits are said to be made from HSS high speed steel with Titanium plating. The shanks are actually steel grey in colour while the cutting blade head is golden in colour. The golden colour of the metal makes me wonder if it is durable? Golden colour suggests some percentage of brass in the metal alloy and this is puzzling since Titanium is normally a lustrous silver colour to light grey?The cutting head is of a 3-flute design and feels sharp to the touch. The 3 flutes design should make centering easier and there should be less slippage or chattering… however, upon testing in a normal hand-held power tool drill, I found there was some small slippage and decentering upon start-up and the countersink gyrated a little before settling down. The countersink was not as effective as I expected and it took some time to achieve the depth of hole I wanted, even in soft wood. I tried all the countersink bits out on hard woods, then soft woods, then plastics, then metals… with much the same results… slow penetration and quite a lot of time to achieve a reasonable depth of countersink hole. This was surprising, since I had expected better results considering how sharp to the touch the new flutes were.I tested the countersinks on metals, mainly mild steel, and they performed adequately, although slowly. I had expected them to generate some heat, but they remained quite cool and this was a good feature. They remained sharp after cutting countersink holes into the metal, so this gives some confidence that they will not wear out too quickly and should last for some time. They come in a standard pop-up small metal tool box which is strong and keeps the countersinks conveniently all together.

These have proved far more useful than I expected. They make the job so much neater than before when I just used a bigger drill bit to countersink. I wouldn't be without them now. Very good storage case too

The media could not be loaded. I use this to both countersink and chamfer holes on mil, lathe and hand drill and they work fantastic, making the job easy and leaving excellent surface finish.I always thought that that countersinking holes in steel simply comes at a price of sweat and tears mixed with copious amounts of cutting fluid. These has definitely changed my views!
