Very durable and versatile vise covers
These are great covers that are non-marring polyurethane that will grip metal, wood, plastics etc. without scratching or leaving unsightly blemishes on the material being clamped. My vise jaws are 5" and I really appreciate these hefty grips to hold my material from moving while cutting, sanding or even putting new threads on drill rod stock. I would have preferred to have the magnets with a stronger magnetism to keep them from moving or coming loose from the vise. To solve that problem, I used two 4" x 1/2" x 1/8" N42 Neodymium magnets with a magnetism of 21.8 lbs. each to hold the jaw covers securely to the vise. I did not have to glue the N42 to the covers at all, just the strength of these magnets keep them practically locked in so to speak. I also did not find any problems with the yellow transferring it's color to the material it was gripping. All in all this is the best vise cover that I had ever used and I had 2 other makes that really were not that satisfactory to my liking. The reason why I rated this review a 4 star is solely due to the weaker factory magnets. If I didn't have to purchase these N42s to aid the existing magnets I would have rated this a 5 star.

great product
I really like these. I had made some wooden jaws to protect my wood projects. They worked ok though I had to unbolt them and bolt in the metal jaws when I was using other material. With these I keep my metal jaws on and these attach by a magnet. They work great with all material and do not scar wood. They remove simply by pulling them off.The only down side, they are a bit thick when you put them on. You loose maybe an inch and a half of the overall jaw opening.

Excellent Rubber Jaws!
Recently I started doing some gun smiting as a hobby. Quickly I learned how important it is to firmly secure the weapon when detaching certain parts. These rubber jaws work like a charm. you can really crank down the tension without having to worry about denting or scratching the subsurface. Also, there are some really nice groves cut into the jaws that help with certain circular pins, or barrels staying in place! Lastly, they are five and half inch jaws. Just make sure your vice has the same size jaws if you want to properly attach them to your vice. You really need to do this if you plan on doing some actual work with them. Buy this product you will be happy!

Leaves Yellow Markings on items
These have magnets molded into them that are pretty good at holding them on the jaws. I do have them on a Wilton vice. They are nice and thick and feel they do a good job protecting whatever you are using them on.One of the reason I purchased these is because using a towel to protect things just was not working very well. For some reason these leave a yellow stain when pressing a part against them. I tried cleaning them off but still get it. Very strange. So I still have to use a towel to keep the yellow off but they do a great job of holding and protecting a part.

Great Product
These vice pads have proven a good product. I've used them for various projects and they have securely held both large and small metal and wood items while filing, hammering, drilling and polishing without any damage to either the items OR the pads. Replacing some other pads, it is nice these magnetic pads don't fall off to the floor...so obnoxious.

Doesn't damage your pieces, discolors on them tough
If you're fed up of leaving marks on your work pieces' this is for you.No more damage or scuff on them. It has 0°-45°-90° cylindrical openings. It is not so hard but harder than rubber and not as tacky. The only problem with this item is that it discolors to amber on your piece. When compressed with torque it can be difficult to clean. If you have so pieces that cannot be cleaned I strongly discourage you to use it.

Jaws do not match up. Had to buy a second pair.
The tubing channels on these jaws are asymmetrical, meaning that in order for them to match up properly when installed in the vise, one jaw must be a mirror image of the other. In the pair I received, the two jaws were identical. The question and answer section above indicates that some customers are receiving correctly mirrored pairs while others are receiving identical pairs.Update: I finally decided to take a chance and purchase a second pair, hoping that I would either get a properly mirrored pair or a pair with two jaws that were reflections of my original jaws. Hallelujah! The new pair was correct. I don't know whether this was just a coincidence or whether Wilton actually got their act together.
