Häfele 2 Pack Mini Latch Automatic Spring Catch for Unsprung Hinge Cabinets, Nickel Plated, Silver

I began searching for auto Spring catches, when my kitchen vent face refused to " latch in" after cleaning. My unit is only 4 years old and cleaned on a regular basis. It's Italian so l looked at their website, to find that the latches were priced at an amazing £18.44 EACH. This isn't just exhorbitant its bordering on criminal. It was therefore refreshing when l found the ironstone catches through Amazon. Only £3.99 per pair. I thought in for a penny etc. Surprise surprise Ironsides catches are EXACTLY the same as the ltalien catch. Well done lronstone and British workmanship for top class products and prices.

Had looked everywhere for these push close/ push open flat catches with no luck. Eventually came across them by chance whilst browsing through the Amazon website. Perfect replacements for the existing fittings. Very easy to fit. Very reasonably priced too. Would recommend.

These work really well. You get a nice reassuring click when they close and when they open they spring the door open slightly. They seem solidly made and sturdy. Fitting is pretty easy. They do not come with screws, however, and I had to go any buy some specially because the mounting holes are *really* tiny. You need them long enough to go through the metal part of the catches and deeply enough into whatever you are mounting them on but the mounting hole diameter is really tiny. I think I ended up with some longish M2.5 screws because M3 didn't fit (I've guessed from memory, sorry).

These latches are pretty small in comparison to most push to latch/push to unlock. They need very little movement to unlock and have quite a bit of push when opening. Way better then the magnet versions I tried before.

Brought these to replace old similar latches that had come to the end of their life. Great replacement, although had to find my own screws to fit as didn’t come with any, saying that it’s only a minor thing to pick out

Bought these as supposedly made by hafelle. The last set of similar catches i bought Off of amazon were generic make and 50% have failed in first week of use hence this order. These are a lot more expensive and i am hoping will be good but although they do at least have some English stamp on the side there is no clear evidence they are made by hafelle as Advertised and therefore i have yet to be convinced of quality ( they otherwise look identical to my previous cheaper and frankly Useless purchase) .....Fingers crossed! I will update this review once the catches have been used for a few weeks.... hopefully all we be well. Note that these despite being more expensive do not come with any fitting screws. So i need to go out and buy some long narrow cheeseHead wood screws. Nothing it seems is ever simple these days :(

Excellent product overall. Weak point is the nylon Catch and would be good if they could be purchased independently.
