Ok, I would rather stay just this side of actually no longer being among the living than deal with seeking medical assistance. I just don't want to be bothered unless I'm acutely dying. And my knee was hurting more than I could handle. Like, it was bad. To the point that my whole leg would refuse to hold me because the knee said no. I tore the meniscus years ago and rehabbed it myself but every now and then, I aggravate it and this time, I've really, really made it mad and it let me know. I'm saying all of that to say, this knee brace actually helps. I couldn't even roll over without helping that leg with the other foot because it just hurt so much. I also have a fat thigh, I measured 23in so I bought the size for that and it was too loose around the kneecap so I went and dug out an old knee strap, you could probably use anything to tighten it up, but I can actually walk and breathe at the same time. I'll probably sleep in it because again, I really should probably go to the doctor but I'm not going to.

After a few months I can say I'm happy with the brace. I measured my leg and ordered the one that was within the range of my leg's measurement. If I had to do it again I would probably order the size just below what my leg measured. This will be for two reasons. First reason is accuracy from the manufacturer and the second reason would be some stretching and relaxing occurs after some use. I highly recommend some sort of cotton sleeve underneath as your skin will get itchy. I use an older ace bandage brace that's just a elastic sleeve. It still gets mildly irritated but the support is really good. I have big legs and I'm very tall. Whatever your size try the size just below what your leg measures. If you're on the lower end of the measurement goes down a size if you're on the very very top end of the measurement use that size.

I ordered these braces because my knees are wrecked, but I'm trying to get back to exercise. I've porked out subsequent to, well, pandemic. And injury. They fit on the thigh perfectly. My calves still think none of that happened, so the calf straps rumple up a lot of neoprene. They seem to stabilize my knees well and they are reducing the post workout pain. They lost a star because they absolutely stink coming out of the package, which triggered my asthma. A few weeks in and that isn't an issue any longer.
