i have been using this product for about 6 months. im just now doing a review and i have made many dishes with this key ingredient. know one knows what give my food such a peculiar flavor but they love it. when you open the container and you scoop out the bean sauce you can see just how high quality the Szechuan chilis were when they picked them.

Way too salty. Threw it out :(

Aromatic and balanced. Not overpowering and well fit for Kung Pao, Hunan etc. Like it, buy without hesitation

Salty paste, best with tofu casserole or sauce. Has a slight kick, and the taste is milder than older aged bean paste. Good for your everyday dishes.

Delicious and truly the gold standard!

A 500 g bottle came in the package. This is Szechuan broad bean paste with chili oil. Not very spicy. Very salty though. Best used for cooking instead of as a dipping sauce. Best use is in stir frying. This will bring out great umami in the dish when used as a stir fry ingredient. But use sparingly as it is salty. A teaspoon will suffice. Very authentic bean paste for Asian cooking.
