Stunning!
Not only the pictures but also the storyline really hits home as I lie in bed curled up in a ball imagining what life would have been like if I had been this man. This is not simply a comic; it is a heart-breaking story that ends with the protagonist ending his suffering in a final shot.

Modern
A former soldier is haunted by the actions of his past and can't adjust to civilian life and the society that has abandoned him. Kept afloat by a mixture of drugs and booze, he joins a former colleague and out of desperation the two attempt to rob a bank. However something unexpected happens and things take a turn for the worse.Mikkel Sommers has created an intriguing comic book that shows a strong understanding of storytelling in comics and some fine artwork. It's brevity is the only critique as it feels too slight to stand alone - its like a prologue to a longer work.A promising start for this artist, hopefully his next publication will be a longer work to better show off his abilities. "Obsolete" is definitely worth a look.

Excellent Work
The story was solid, but I'm all about the art. Sommer's art work is just insane. I still can't get over his use of line and color. Eagerly awaiting any work by him in the future. Highly recommended!

rough little crime comic
Obsolete is a short, concise, and harsh little crime comic. It's not an unfamiliar story -- crime genre fans will recognize common tropes of the robbery gone wrong -- but it's all in how it's done. Mikkel Sommer demonstrates a mastery of comics technique and subtle experimentation, examining the short narrative from enlightening angles. Sommer is definitely one to watch as his career progresses, and Obsolete is an engaging read.
