Great new must have knife from Cold Steel.
The Atlas Lock is incredibly easy to deploy and close the blade with one hand. I like it better than the Axis Lock. The blade opens and closes smooth as silk. You really don't need the thumb studs. Shaving sharp out of the box and the blade was perfectly centered. It's been in my pocket since it arrived and has held a great edge.

Impressive knife
Did someone order the M1A1 of knives? No, the M1A1 of knives is the scout 4...LOL This is a full size knife that fits my XL hands perfectly. The "engage" action is cool and works flawlessly! Made of great materials this knife is impressive! Tight lock up, sharp, smooth action, great scales, nice beefy thumb studs! Cold steel never dissapoints!

Bigger than expected but well built
I have had the 3" bladed version of the Engage for a while and was expecting the 3.5 inch version to just be a longer version. Nope, It's beefier in all dimensions. closer in size to the AD-10; not quite as thick, but much closer than I had expected. The 3" version is more in line with the FM1 (Full Metal Atlas). The knife is well built, the Atlas Lock is strong and easy to use, and the blade came very sharp out of the box ( as Cold Steel blades do). Cold Steel always impresses me with the quality they provide at their price point!

Great knife - it feels like it was built for both utility and style!
I have a few Cold Steel knives and have been satisfied with the purchases over the years, so I sorta knew what to expect with this particular blade. Very robust knife, quite a bit more so than I thought it would be. It takes up a lot of real estate in your pocket, but it's not as bad as other knives I've owned. The blade opening is not spring-assisted or anything, so one-hand operation is difficult (however, I don't care about that aspect at all). I was not a big fan of the artificial wood grain style in the handle, because in the pictures, it was literally nearly almost impossible to see - I honestly would have preferred plain/smooth, but that is more of a gripe. The cutouts in the grip are great, though. The atlas lock is interesting! Never had experience with this type of lock before, but I already like it - will be interesting to see how well it holds up - I've always hated the other traditional style tab locks, I don't always trust them. These knives, I've never had rust issues, so I am hoping it stays that way, which I feel confident it will. Two things I don't like about this knife: The blade tip should be recessed a bit more in the handle when closed; if it catches just right, it will cut/tear easily. The second thing is that this knife should have come with a longer pocket clip. I hate small pocket clips, especially on robust items like this. I might be able to upgrade it, but for the price, it should have already been included. Other than that, this is honestly a very nice knife - Very happy with the purchase again.

You can’t beat Cold Steel
I bought this knife as a present for my grandson. He needed a good strong pocket knife for his job. There is nothing stronger and sharper than Cold Steel knives. I personally had experience with this particular knife, so I chose it as a gift to him. He loves it.

An Extremely Capable EDC Knife and highly recommended...
Incredible nice blade... Bought the AD-10 based on reviews on the net... Nice knife, but nothing like my Gerber Applegate covert that I've been carrying since 1996... The AD-10 is fine if you are in need of a blade to combat giant zombies... The Engage is almost the same length and has the ease of opening and closing that the AD-10 just doesn't have... I really like the AD-10; But for every day carrying and deployment and stow capabilities, the Engage is the winner... I've been carrying a Gerber Applegate covert since they came out in 1996... The Gerber Applegate Covert is a great knife and has a very ominous look when it's deployed, but it's not the best choice to split a sandwich or cut up a steak... I've done both with my Gerber Applegate, but it always feels like I pulled out a sord to slice some cheese... The Cold Steel Engage is perfect for either slicing a sandwich or dealing with something that requires a little more effective edge and point action... Great price from Amazon and definitely a nice addition to my knife collection... Easier to slip into your pocket and LOL (IMFHO) a much smoother deployment and especially when closing the blade... Try both one handed and tell me the AD-10 is an easier knife to manipulate under stress... Been there, done that... 82nd ABN Veteran...

Sure wished I knew when to buy and when there is going to be sale.
The knife is a typical Cold Steel knife, its Great. However it is a lot like my stocks that I have bought. I paid $147.00 for it here at Amazon at the end of July so two months ago and you can buy it today for $97.00. Kind of makes me sick, just like my stocks. Sure wish I had a heads up. I have purchased 12 Cold Steel knives on Amazon since the end of July and practically all of them are on sale today. Bummer.

Bargain EDC
This is a well built knife. Detent feels just right. It's got very smooth operation, both opening and closing. I have several other Cold Steel models with Triad and Scorpion locks and this one, with the Atlas lock, is in the same league quality wise. Tanto blade with S35VN steel is a steal in my opinion.
