By far the best cane tip available
After getting cellulitis, which turned into sepsis, and nearly killed me, ultimately resulting in two incisions (one 10", and one 6" in length and 3" wide) down to the muscle, they even cut the muscle fascia, at 45yrs old, I suddenly required a cane till I get my full strength back. They finally sutured the aforementioned holes in my leg back up, after I'd spent more time than I'd like, often staring at my thigh muscles, as they weren't packed that often. The hospital initially tried to give me a walker, but I declined, mostly out of pride, if I'm being honest. I'd experienced a year of combat, serving with the Marine Corps, in Iraq in 2005, played 2 yrs of college club hockey, as the starting goalie, at 40yrs old for Marshall University, and had been coaching youth hockey for 11 years. I was pretty healthy, and active. My only overnight visit, prior to the recent, to a hospital was to get my tonsils out at age 4-5. Now, suddenly, I couldn't get my leg my wife's Tahoe, without lifting it with both hands. I'd been smacked in the face with my own mortality. I found myself staring at a walker, the PT (physical therapy) guy was showcasing was the same walker my mother uses. I finally talked the PT guy into crutches and a cane. I shelved the crutches, as I figured despite being more difficult, the cane would give me my strength back, quicker. I'm a terrible patient, I know. However, I soon discovered the standard issue cane tips often kinda stick, and feel jerky, and not very stable if you're not moving very very slow. You also have to constantly watch to make sure the tip hits right, or you get that jerky, instability I mentioned earlier. That wasn't going to fly, as far as I was concerned. So, I started trying out different tips for the cane. I tried some "athletic tips", but they were too shallow, and gave way to much laterally, as they were made more for the types of crutches used in certain disabled Olympic sports. I tried some other all terrain tips, but they were pretty much the same as the standard cane tips, but they did fair better on wet surfaces. Finally I got these tips, and they were perfect. Wide enough to great stability. I don't feel as much impact on my wrist, palms, and forearms. I assume due to the air cushion design, that reminded me of pretty much every tennis shoe made since LA Gear was a thing. The often jerky motion was gone, and moving felt smooth, as the cane tip can hit at an shallower angle, and still grip the surface more than enough to provide support and a feeling of stability. I'm getting my strength back, and PT is excited because I'm not only hitting the benchmarks in flexibility, and strength, but exceeding them. I'm not saying these cane tips can do miracles or anything. However they certainly made my recovery easier, and thus I was able to push my self more while doing my PT at home. I'm hoping to be back on the ice for drop in ice hockey, tending net, and coaching, this July, which is just 2 full months after I'd went to the hospital feverish, in septic shock, which I'm told nearly killed me. I was discharged, unable to lift my leg up off the bed at all, without using my arms, and yesterday I carried a 50lb bag of Quick Crete to set my new Marine Corps flag pole in the ground, in my yard, as the previous pole had blown completely over during a bad storm, while I was in the hospital. Being able to do that, was a huge milestone for me. Supporting my wounded leg, during this personal flag raising, was my cane, with this cane tip on the end. In my humble opinion, this cane tip is simply the best tips on the market. I tried at least 5 different tips, before I got this one. I got on Amazon, and ordered all 5 of them while I was in the hospital. While the glow in the dark feature they mention is admittedly highly exaggerated, as far as brightness goes, and how useful it is, the glowing tip would make finding your cane in the dark easier, so that might come in handy, I guess. These tips made a huge difference in my recovery, physically, as well as mentally, as this all humbled me pretty hard. Between this brush with death, that certainly was on par with some close call, combat experiences I'd had, the guy punch of losing my mobility, and having to use some SERE School mental techniques to get through the wound packing, to avoid crying out in pain, I'm thankful to be alive. I'm thankful for every day since, that I'm still here to be a Dad for my kids, and husband to my wife. However to get to the topic, I'm thankful I found this dag gone cane tip, as it's helped me, literally carried me a bit, to get me closer to my former post war "normal", faster than I ever expected. I highly recommend whoever designed these for a medal, and I highly recommend this product. Semper Fi

Wonderful item!
I recently fractured a foot bone and found that the tip on my regular cane tended to slip on the floor a bit when I was trying to walk and needed more stabilization while wearing a fracture shoe. This was just what I needed!! It grips the floor firmly, does not slip or slide and makes me feel more stable using my cane. I find that it is not "heavy" at all (I am old and can't lift much) and don't know why anyone would say it is. Can't say enough good about it; would give it 10 stars, if I could!

Is there a trick to "activating" the glow in the dark feature?
I have tried leaving the cane on a south-facing windowsill for 2-3 hours and still get no illumination. Is there a trick or did I get a dud? I bought it for my aunt. She reported that, after using it for a couple of days to get used to it, she likes the cushioning and stability. However, we have yet to see any phosphorescence, which was one of the things that persuaded me to buy it for her. I hate to return it as that would leave her without it for up to a couple of weeks in order to send it back and have it reshipped. Suggestions are welcome.

QUIET ON HARDWOOD FLOOR
These cane tips are very quiet on hardwood floors. They are very stable and I have yet to have them slip on dry surface. I take use my cane outside and that means I must clean the tip before I come into the house and it cleans up easily. I have had it for about four months as I write this review. One other thing that impressed me is that the one I bought glows in the dark all night long. Not a bright glow, but very softly. Buy it, you will like it.

IF YOUR CANE MAKES NOISE ON STRIKE!! MUST HAVE ITEM
Sometimes your walking gait requires a bit of a cane strike. In that case the clack of your cane can be extremely annoying/de-anonymizing/peculiar-draw-of-unwanted-attention in public. THIS SOLVES THE CANE-STRIKE PROBLEM! No matter the angle, this impacts flat, enhances grip, and seems quite durable (only had it a week). It has a good tread pattern for outdoor weather too. I am confident in this cane tip, though it costs ~2x the generic cane tips. Very very useful

Work great
These are awesome. They are sturdy and don't slip. They really do glow in the dark. I bought two and ordered two more. I have one for all 4 of my canes.

Great cane tip
This is a cane tip superior to just the black rubber tips. They advised using a hair dryer to heat it up before sliding it on the end. I would not have gotten it on unless I followed this suggestion. It is big and bulky. It provides a firmer grip to various surfaces. I feel much safer with it. You will, too.

Something changed…
I have used this product going on four years. The first three years was great but 8 to 12 months ago they changed something I am on crutches and if I have my crutches at two sharp of an angle, the screw just pops right out of the center and in turn makes it worthless, so much so to where I can’t even use the crutch that that happens to so then I’m down to one crutch. I have still ordered them but refuse to ever order them again. The last few times I got them within the first 24 to 48 hours the tips were broke! Like I said, the first three years, they were indestructible. They used to come one in a bag, and I feel like ever since they started coming two in a bag is when they changed.

My cane came with a okay foot, but I found that it either made it too short or too tall when I adjusted the cane, plus it slipped on linoleum… so I treated myself and bought this one, and it’s the best. Works on all surfaces and holds doors open, also.

This cane end did not fit in my hubbies cane. He liked it, so might try to figure out how to make it fit.
