Works a treat
This worked a treat in late spring ~early summer using the recipe that’s included. Caught 3 late spring wasps that looked like they were building a nest in my small garden.:

Bad For The Bees
We've had a rather unexpectedly high number of wasps buzzing around our home and garden since early May - certainly more than previous years. So based on the generally positive reviews here I decided to buy these traps, load them with the recommended mixture and hang them in my garden well away from my conservatory and home windows. That was 2 weeks ago, and to date I have trapped 2 wasps, 4 flies and roughly 30 bees! Fortunately, I managed to release the bees before suffering a watery grave. But all the same this is not what I was expecting or hoping for. And what I noticed even more was when the solution started to dry out in the May sunshine, to form a sticky "goo" at the bottom of the traps, it just attracted more and more bees!I have decided, therefore, to take them down and re-position elsewhere in my garden to see if that will attract the wasps and flies once and for all. With that in mind I wasn't sure what kind of rating to give here. Both traps arrived in good time, and with no damage. The instructions were generally okay, especially the mixture recipe - which does work - and they are an effective deterrent: the only problem is that it is attracting the wrong kind of critter!Perhaps I will get lucky by the relocation. But at present the traps do work, just not for me (or the bees!)----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------UPDATED 14th August 2017----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Well just over 2 months since writing this review, I have to say that I am now hugely impressed with these traps! I relocated them to another part of my garden, and I have to say they have both been very effective trapping and killing both flies and wasps in their dozens! Regrettably a couple of bees suffered as well, but certainly not in the same volume compared to my experiences back in June. And what I have noticed is that the longer you keep the mix in the traps, the more attractive it becomes to wasps and flies! Plus, the dead flies and wasps within the traps act as a further magnet for more of the same, to the point where there must have been at least 50 or 60 dead insects in each vessel before I eventually had the messy & sticky task of cleaning them out and resetting for the next round. So if you find your traps are not doing anything for the first couple of weeks, don't change anything! Let the mix "mature" over time, and it will eventually attract the critters in their droves.Have up-rated my score from 2 stars to 4.

Great product
Amazing , placed above where the kids play and I’m always amazed at how many wasps it attracts

Wouldn’t bother! Wasps not bothered. Why should you?
Well - have had this hanging in our conservatory for a while now. Followed instructions . We have had several wasps visit our conservatory when windows left open. Not one wasp has taken an interest in this trap. Several wasps flapping around in our lantern roof. Traps redundant! So - not impressed. I wouldnt bother buying them. They are bigger than they need to be too. Not impressed

Effective but flawed
The media could not be loaded. The good:The mixture it suggests is perfect for attracting wasps and flies. I was worried it’d attract bees too but I’ve not seen a single one which is great. As you can see, it’s built up quite a large amount of wasps so it’s certainly doing it’s job from that perspective. For context, that’s about 2 weeks worth of capture! The bad:Unfortunately, there’s a large hole at the top of the trap, just beneath the hanger. I didn’t notice to begin with until I saw wasps escaping from it easily. I covered it with tape initially, which they chewed through, and now I’ve crammed a piece of rolled up cardboard into the gap to keep them in - but I’m not sure how long that’ll last either. Had I noticed the gap, and to anyone considering purchasing this trap, it would have been a good idea to glue a piece of plastic over the hole. A terrible design flaw really. Now it’s up, it’s hard to now take down to fix properly or refill with the concoction while there’s live wasps flying around inside it. The lid isn’t very secure so I worry it’d pop off and I’d be attacked by the (now extremely angry) wasps within.

Arrived on time
The item appears fine. That said it hasn’t been tested well at the moment as the local weather hasn’t been conducive for lots of flying insects/wasps to be attracted to the substance inside.Product appears sturdy and I’m certainly attracting some flying insects into the collector.Time will tell.
