does it open fray bentus big tin pies

Hi there, I've never been able to get it to open the fray bentus tins and I always end up having to use my old tin opener to do this. Apart from the fray bentus tins it works brilliantly on everything else. I hope this answer your query.

Will this deal with ring-pull cans which seem to be on the increase these days. My current manual opener has real problems with them. Will this do it?

I have only had the can opener for a week and so far it has opened all cans perfectly including ring pull. All edges are bevelled over so no more jagged edges on cans.

How does it operate? I put it in place, get an 'err' sound then nothing.

To make the tin opener work you may need to keep altering the position and pressing the button. It can be temperamental. Make sure you've got brand new batteries in too. Even batteries that have been used a couple of times wont have the power to operate it.

Can't get it to work, makes a noise but does nothing tried moving it still no luck ! Think it will be going back if i can return .

Yes it is a little difficult until you get the knack, try placing the opener on the top of the can then tip it up slightly before pressing the starter, as soon as the opener starts to move stop holding it and allow it to work around the lid, it should stop when it finishes and the magnet will hold the lid. THIS GADGET IS AMAZING.

This gadget has been a complete game changer in our kitchen. It is AMAZING. I have got a Repetitive Strain Injury in my left hand and wrist caused by having to open 16 tins of cat food every day!!!! This product is an absolute god send. It has made my life much much easier now and opens 9 out of 10 of our cat food tins. If you buy one thing for your kitchen, then buy this...you will NOT REGRET IT. Easy to use, first class result every time you use it.

Im very impressed with this can opener. It works extremely well, and works every time. What a change from pulling the ring and spilling the contents of the can over the work surface. A smashing machine, well worth the money.

Much safer than conventional can opener

Very easy to use

This is the second one I've bought, I got this for a present as I'd found mine to be excellent.The batteries have lasted well. It easily opens tins, even ring pull tins and corned beef tins. The magnet doesn't always lift the lid off but that's not an issue as it easily lifts off. It doesn't leave a sharp edge, when cut.I've got arthritis so I've found it really helpful.I'd recommend it.

It's just the best opener you could buy

It is by far the best con opener you could get, it just does everything without you doing a thing, I only wished I'd have bought it long ago I have arthritis in my hands but with this opener I don't have to do anything anyway , it even takes the lid off completely and holds it waiting for you to remove it from the opener and no jagged edges it is really excellent value for money

Soooo good at opening tins with no sharp edges

Struggled really bad with manual tin openers. Saw positive reviews and thought if it’s rubbish I can send it back. Oh my gosh, it’s fantastic, put on top , no pressing, just make sure it’s in place. Press button, wait until it changes sound when it’s done full circle and press again. Opens all sorts of tins and even ring pull tins. This has made my independence a lot better. The tins aren’t sharp either. Top tip, glue pretty paper to sides of used and washed tins to make a plant pot, pencil holder etc. reuse then recycle. Definitely buy brand new batteries, unlike me who used old ones and the tin got stuck until I bought new ones. This isn’t a paid review. I will definitely be buying this one when a replacement is needed

Life of equipment

First one didnt last very long. Will give a second try. Works very well and leaves a fairly safe edge on the open can. Very easy to use

Doesn't work

It rotates very nicely. That's where its abilities end. I bought it as a gift for a relative who couldn't quite get it to grip. No problem. I easily got it to hold onto the tin and it got to 'work'.I use the term loosely, because after going round the tin edge, it hadn't even dented the top. It had however scratched the label, just to show what it could do if it really wanted.I switched it on again with the same result. Third time round I let it go round a couple of times but it still couldn't make any headway.I'd suggest that, if you really want to buy this, that you also invest in a small skating figurine and a copy of the Blue Danube Waltz. That way, you can glue the figurine to the opener and watch it skating around beautifully and gracefully.
