Excellent Fan
This is exactly what we needed to get through the July/August heat wave. No AC...and airflow through our house is pretty much nonexistent. This guy circulates the air so well. Keeps us cool. People complain about the noise...it's a fan...if you want it to actually circulate air so you can FEEL COOL...it's going to make noise. Seems silly to knock off stars because it's "noisy." You can get a tower fan that makes no noise...but you're not going to get the cooling relief you need during a heat wave. For me, staying cool is more important than noise. All that said...I don't find it to be that loud at all. Do I need to turn the volume up on my TV when using it, yes. Does it keep me awake at night because it's so loud, no.

Well Made Fan
I decided to go with the 14" and do not regret it. This size works great on a floor or set across from you on a large table or counter top. If you were to set it on your desk and aim it at you your eyes would quickly dry up even with it on speed 1 because it moves a good quantity of air. The tilt mechanism allows for the fan to face slightly downward, or it can be tilted just beyond aiming straight up. I am very satisfied with being able to tilt this fan at these angles, and it stays in place well once tilted. The fan feels very solid and well made. The picture looks slightly deceiving, but the blades are black to match the grille, although they appear glossier than the grille does since they're a flatter surface. The power cable is black, 9ft long and thick like you would expect a power tool or a quality extension cord to be. The motor sits behind the cage and is enclosed very well, yet still vented, so that dirt and hair should not easily bind it up. The grille, blades, and stand are all metal. The rear enclosure around the motor with the speed dial is plastic. It has rubber(?) feet to keep it in place and a handle that makes it easy to move since it is quite heavy compared to a plastic fan.I have had it on the floor of my room in 90 degree F weather on speed 1 and been very comfortable with it blowing on me while I'm sitting at my desk.Readings from my "KILL A WATT" on US 120v (115v measured at the outlet)Speed 1: 0.43 Amp, 49.5 WattSpeed 2: 0.48 Amp, 55.2 WattSpeed 3: 0.57 Amp, 61.6 WattPossible Cons:* The speed dial goes 0 (off), 3, 2, 1 which is not very intuitive for humans, but the fan doesn't come up to speed immediately so when you blip it past speed 3 you don't have a hurricane of air coming at you.* This fan is not quiet on speeds 2 or 3, but it moves good air.* Heavy, but it's also well madeConclusion: I would recommend this fan to anyone looking for a floor or table fan that can blow right on them or move air from across the room. The speed range is great and the fan is well made in the USA. Save yourself some money in the long run and buy this instead of a cheaper fan that will crack or get dirt or hair in the motor. I hope to find a window fan of similar quality.

Best Fan, not the cheapest, but the best
This thing is quality. Excellent construction, and build. It has a full commercial rating so it can run 24/7 without breaking a sweat, unlike 90% of the other $70-$130 dollar floor fans in size range. The biggest feature that I liked about it, is the ball-bearing motor. Most fans of this size are all sleeve-bearing which wear out after 3-4 years and become noisey. This motor has ball bearings which should last 15-20 years under regular use. It's truly worth the price you pay. Some people are complaining about the plastic speed switch on the rear but I have no complaints with mine. On a commercial fan you don't want soft touch controls, push buttons or a remote. They don't last. Simple rotary switch, and it works like it should. The huge long grounded three prong power cord is also an added bonus for longevity and proves its true commercial rating. Nice work AirKing on creating an excellent product!

I have 2 of them and I am very pleased/ EDIT!!!
We have now been using these for about 4 months and are very pleased with them. They are industrial grade and they sure do move the air.-They are pretty well balanced. We use them in the house for sleeping fans. They do vibrate the floor on my hardwood floors but do not in the bedroom where there is carpet.-My brother-in-law mentioned that his entire shop in Detroit is equipped with Air King fans.-The fans may be a little loud for some people especially if you are using it primarily as background sound for sleeping. We live on a busy road that is very loud outside so this particular fan works out just great for us.-The fan has a very classy look to it for an industrial fan so it does look nice in a house in my opinion.-We do not foresee needing to use the air conditioning this summer based on how well the fan moves air. I think we may buy a third.Well thanks for reading my review, I hope it helped.EDIT 7/1/2014: The fan that I have been using on my hardwood floor when turned on high setting has a random rattling sound. Not a sound that gives any indication that it is falling apart, just a sound like something is not on tight. I checked all the outside screws and they are nice and snug. I will have to pull off the front cover and see if there is anything inside that can be tightened up.Still working very well, the rattling sound is just a little annoying. Hopefully I can resolve the issue.10/13/2014- The random rattling seems to be coming from the cage of the fan. It only does this on hardwood floors on the highest setting. If you aim the fan up it stops. Fan number 2 has only been on a carpeted floor and does not rattle. I am still very pleased with my purchase.7/21/15- I took them apart and cleaned them. I blew out the motors best I could. When finished I noticed the one that had vibrated in the past stopped. I am wondering if it was just a loose screw, or maybe some dust build up was just enough to throw it out of balance. Either way I am still happy with the purchase of both fans.

The Air King is king of fans!!
This fan is amazing! One of the best quality items I’ve ever ordered from Amazon. Great product for price. It has 3 settings and I have never had to use it beyond the 1st. Commercial grade fan, with the added bonus of white noise.
