A great mini DAB and FM Radio.
This is a great mini DAB and FM Radio. It needs headphones to be connected to get reception and can store 20 stations on DAB and FM. It can get the new DAB+ so a good range of stations are available. It is very easy to use like an MP3 Player and change the volume. The display is a clear LED Type dot matrix type that can stay on while you play a station and display the usual data from a DAB+ Station. The FM Stations include an RDS and it is easy to find and store local frequencies. It is rechargeable and lasts a good 12 hours usually for such a Mini Radio. For the price I would recommend this Radio.

Updated thoughts now 9/10
**updated at foot of page**I am a fan of the majority brand and have always found their products to be very good.I have been using a majority pocket dab for the past 3/4 years, but it stopped charging.I had no hesitation in buying this later model. The reception is excellent in both dab & FM.Saving favourite channels is very simple. It's fairly solidly built, all good so far..........but.....This new model still uses micro usb, which was the weakness in the previous model, it's inconvenient when my phone, and tablet use usb-c which is a much better connection. The on/off button is a very poor design, when a simple button would do the job.Overall it is a good radio, but with a couple of minor tweaks, it could be so much better.6/10***After using daily, I am completely won over, battery life is excellent 3-5 hours leaves the battery at half charge. The lock button is excellent,(I was wrong), it stops accidental adjustments.I'm still not keen on the micro usb socket, usb-c would be much better.Overall brilliant 9/10👍

I Love It, But...
I bought my brother one of these for his birthday - a shot in the dark, hoping he'd like it. In fact, he was so enthusiastic ("Radio is phenomenal! Unbelievably better than my 3 mains ones." - his words exactly, taken from his text message) that with such a glowing accolade, I just had to have one myself.I had been in general impressed with Majority's MP3 player, (which I also recently reviewed) apart from one thing: it has no radio built in. So as an avid listener to classical music programmes, as well as news and current affairs programmes, I gave myself permission to buy this tiny DAB/FM radio. to use in bed as well as on my travelsThe sound quality exceeded expectations. I used to think FM radio was good enough but the difference between that and DAB is remarkable, with an astonishing sense of "presence". With my Sound Magic earphones the quality is all I could ask for (though the phones supplied are perfectly acceptable). So why (I hear you ask) give it only four stars? Why not the whole five?Well, there are a number of reasons, some of which you may find trivial, but which mean something to me. Firstly, there is the instruction "book", which is actually a concertinaed leaflet comprising seven panels, giving a total of fourteen sides. The numbering of these "pages" is illogical, reading from left to right on the first side and from right to left on the reverse. So it took me a good while to find page 9, on which are the instructions for saving stations to the presets. Having found it, I struggled to make sense of the instructions and found out how to do it by trial and error (which my brother informs me was a situation he had also encountered). Then there are the buttons. Most of the MP3 players I've used have buttons that make very little or no sound when pressed. Some even have "virtual", touch sensitive buttons that require no pressure at all (though I'm none too fond of those). But the buttons on this device produce a click so loudly audible that when I used it in bed to search for and store stations or turn up the volume, it woke my wife up, creating therefore the potential for marital disharmony! To be fair to Majority Audio, it seems that most of these mini DAB radios are similar in this respect, though I can't understand why they can't be made with less clicky buttons.Apart from those few gripes, which many people would not find too bothersome, this is indeed a remarkable little gadget. The battery life has already exceeded the pathetic couple of hours I got from a bulky old pocket DAB radio that uses AA batteries. The size is perfect for taking away with me or for using on shopping trips. And a scan has pulled in 46 stations, including my favourites: LBC and BBC Radios 3 and 4.So all in all, this is an impressive little device and for those living alone, a perfect night-time companion. But if you share a bed with a partner, beware those clicky buttons. You have been warned!

A great portable DAB+ radio.
My new Majority Petersfield personal DAB+ radio arrived recently on an Amazon delivery and my first impression was how small the box was that it came in. Upon opening the box though I was impressed with the radios small size and it's quality look, plus it felt good in my hands. I unpacked the ear plugs and I plugged them in and I liked the fact that they plug into the bottom edge of the radio. I turned my Petersfield DAB+ on and it started to scan for programmes. It didn't take long to find 57 stations and I started to listen to the first station which was Absolute radio and the music came through loud and clear. The sound quality was impressive, and as it got louder, it got better, plus it displayed a warning about the sound level. How thoughtful I thought. I continued to go through all the stations and they all came through with strong signals and quality sound. I must say that the Petersfield DAB+ felt easy to use in my hand and the buttons have a quality feel to them. My new Majority Petersfield personal radio was to replace my last portable DAB radio which came to a watery end when it fell out of my pocket into a deep puddle. It was old and tatty and scratched to pieces and it was in need of replacement and my Majority Petersfield DAB+ radio is a great replacement for it. The radio has a rechargeable battery which lasts about 9 to 10 hours which is a lot better that my last radio with its 2 AA batteries, and its buttons are lockable. The radio also has 20 FM presets and 20 DAB+ presets and they are easy to access. The digital display is big and clear and the user can scroll and show a lot of information. The ear plugs are comfortable and there is a small bag with replacement soft rubber plugs perhaps for different users maybe. After a few walks with my Petersfield radio I was very pleased with the sound quality and the clear sound, plus the radios ease of use plus the battery hasn't lost any power yet, and I expect it to last for a few more journeys .I think that my Majority Petersfield DAB+ personal radio is a fantastic, lightweight and easy to use radio which will give me a lot of fun and it will keep me entertained for quite some time to come.
