Black Sabbath: Black Sabbath. Guitar Solo.

This well set out and clearly tabbed. You can sit and learn it note for note, but some of it I prefer to use as a guide to the structure of the riffs and adapt my own style. If you watch Tony in videos you'll see how he doesn't stick exactly to how it's written.

I know this album for quite a while, the book is very close to the original, allowing the owner to see Tony Iommi's style in the beginning of the band's recording career, and how it changed throughout the 70's, Iommi is definitely the star here, playing solo after solo, which makes the album and this songbook, I gave it 5 stars and I hope this review helps.

Excellent and accurate tab.

First off, a lot of the guitar that is played on this seminal heavy rock album is quite obvious. Well it is now that it has influenced so many guitarists. However I purchased the book mostly for the guitar solos and in particular Warning, and like the other Hal Leonard books Volume 4 and Heaven And Hell it helped me unlock the solos and understand a little more of Mr. Iommis style. Damn shame they don't include Geezers bass lines though. Well presented, no performance notes ( bit of a problem with such a distinctive guitar player).

What a complete waste of time and money. Please, if your interested in this DVD set I hope that this review can help you to avoid this and not suffer as I have watching this farce. First off let's look at the packaging. This is the only redeemable feature of this set. The hard back book is the same size as a vinyl LP and is actually a nice read. Ok so none of the info contained is new to the long standing Sabbath fan but it's put together nicely. A few years ago a DVD was released called 'inside black sabbath'. It was part of a new series of DVD documentaries about various classic hard rock bands. The inside series was basically a few guys sitting around discussing the band in question and talking about their albums. The black sabbath one had a running time of 60 mins which is no where near long enough to tell the full story of a band as long running as sabbath and the end result was a poor documentary which missed loads stuff out, not even mentioning the born again album at all. This 4 DVD set is basically that exact same rubbish inside black sabbath documentary spread over 4 DVDs. That's right they've taken a 60 min documentary and split it into 4 DVDs each with a running time of just over 25 mins. To pad things out the company who've made this have bizarrely chosen to add some instrumental rock music which is not even sabbath music in the background then every so often in between talking about 2/3mins would be just a picture of the band with this music playing. Plus they repeat some parts over and over so by the fourth disc you've heard some of the same lines of dialogue 4/5 times. This really is a poor product and I feel totally ripped off and conned. Ok so being a big fan of sabbath I wasn't expecting any earth shattering revelations or loads of new info but the packaging lead me to think I was getting a comprehensive history of the band and it looks official but has clearly had zero input or been authorised by any of the sabbath band members. The final insult is that whilst this DVD set includes music their is absolutely no sabbath music at all and even the original inside black sabbath documentry had some live footage included and it's absent here. Avoid at all costs.

Nonostante l elegante confezione ed impaginazione,con alcune rare foto d epoca,il resto,cioe i dvd,sono di livello scarsissimo anche essendo bootleg.Interviste raffazzonate,trovate chissa dove,sempre che siano originali,e di pessima qualita..sarebbe stato piu dignitoso il solo libro,buono a livello grafico,senza i 4 dvd ma ad un prezzo decisamente piu contenuto.
