Perfect
Long cord so that I could run it up through the headliner and down the side post to fuse block. Like that it comes with fuse, just crimp on whatever terminals you need and plug it in. Works perfectly.

This thing makes it super easy to hard wire your cobra detector to your car.

Simple Install / Works Perfectly
Bought this to hard wire connect a Cobra radar detector. Simple to install: Just connected the marked Positive (+) wire to 12v power source and the Negative (-) wire to ground. Boom! No more having to take up a cigarette lighter port.

Functions fine, but be prepared to buy a fuse tap for auto on and off with your car ignition
It’s a decent hardwire Kit. It’s cheaply made, but it doesn’t cost much either. It does the job just fine. It does suck that it didn’t come with a fuse box tap... you either have to wedge it in between an existing fuse into the receiver, or wire it to your battery terminals.I wanted to use a fuse in my Porsche that automatically turns on and off with my ignition, so I went the fuse route. Even after wedging the positive wire in between the radio fuse, the detector would stay on even with the key removed and the car locked.I ended up having to buy a fuse tap from auto zone so that power was automatically turned on and off with my ignition. Kinda sucks this kit doesn’t come with one by default. All that being said, I got it all connected, ran it in my overhead and side trim to cover the wire, and the end results look great and functional exactly how I wanted it to.Just be prepared to buy a fuse tap separately if you want to set it up correctly using the fuse box. I’ve only had it installed for a week, so time will tell how long it will last. Fingers crossed!Worked with my Cobra RAD450, the connection that goes into the detector power port sticks out much further than it needs to though.

Universal for products are universally difficult to fit. More follows.Since I now spend most of my work day in my car, I went on a mission to declutter the cockpit. This did the job, with minor caveats. The length of the cord is okay, but I'd like the fuse holder a foot or two up the positive cable so behind my dash doesn't look like a work bench at Mission Control during Apollo 13.I've installed these by soldering, using an add-a-fuse, and T connectors. Save yourself the headache and use an add-a-fuse on the instrument cluster fuse so it only turns on with the ignition, allowing you full use of the accessory switch for making out.Use a 2.5 or 5 amp fuse, not 10.If the fuse holder was farther up the positive cable, I could not have three feet of cable wound up and zip tied behind my A pillar. The connector is also universal fit. It isn't as clean as the cigarette lighter's cable, but it isn't going anywhere unless I'm in Virginia.Grounding is easy: remove the kick panel under the fuse box and clamp the appropriate ring fitting to go over the ground strap bolt.It took me longer to mount an eBay cell phone holder than it did wire my radar detector directly to my electrical system. I'm a much happier driver.
