Denon DHT-T110 Bluetooth Speaker Base for TV

I bought a Samsung UE32H5500 32-inch Widescreen Full HD Smart LED TV with Built In Wi-Fi and Freeview HD [Energy Class A+] for sole use in my bedroom. It's a great TV with an amazing picture, but the sound is not suitable for night listening, it's very heavy on the base and even though it has a mode for voice, I find it difficult to hear voices without turning the volume quite high. This in turn disturbs other family members. I have even turned the TV off and watched BBC iplayer on my iPad, which doesn't make sense, right! So after oodles of research I opted for a sound bar, then I came across the Denon DHT, owning a Denon stereo I know how good they sound. I took the plunge, ask me am I happy, I am so happy I'm gonna get a second one for my living room. Ok list of the happy It has a remote, yay! But not only does it have a remote, the unit allows you to program other remotes to access the volume up and down. Please note you have to program volume up separate to volume down, so basically go through the memorise up then again for the down. It knows when the TV is on or off so no need to power it up to watch TV and if you turn TV off, it switches off It has night an day settings, use the night settings to drop the base sound, so it doesn't disturb others in the house. It seems to give a virtual surround sound effect on movie mode, hence why I wouldn't mind a second one for the living room. It has Bluetooth, so yay I can connect my phone Mac or iPad to it and play my music. It does act as a stand so your TV does sit on it, I know for wall mounted TVs this may not work for you. All cables are in the box, no need to buy separate cables. I love it great sound ease of use highly recommended.

Follow up: initial disappointment has grown. Restricted sound stage means a very narrow and close listening window, outside of which vibrancy and clarity drops off quickly. It does not compare well with soundbars I have since heard, and regret not having bought a matching Samsung soundbar (for my Samsung Tv). The Speaker Base is perfectly adequate for what it sets out to do. It is a significant sound improvement over the sound from my 5 series Samsung 40in LED tv (though frankly it doesn’t take much). It produces plenty of volume, reasonable base and a somewhat restricted sound field. This is not "home cinema" nor was I expecting such, but still a wee bit disappointed. A black plastic box without much in the way of aesthetics, it is structurally sound and strong enough to support any modern flat panel TV (say up to 50 in). There is adequate connectivity to meet its design function, ie to take a digital output from your TV and produce a better sound than from the TV's speakers. It connected and streamed from my iphone & ipad via Bluetooth without difficulty. If you have multiple HDMI sources, the "hub" is your TV, not the device. You simply select the TV video source on the TV and the sound is sent via the optical digital connector to the Denon (having turned the built in TV speakers off). Annoyingly the Speaker Base does not have a line level analogue audio out to drive wireless headphones which strikes me as a penny pinching omission. The controls on the box, replicated on the reasonable remote, are again adequate if basic, but then do you need more? The ability of the unit to learn the remote control functions from say your cable remote is useful, in allowing, for example, the volume control of you cable box to change the volume on the base. By virtue of an annoying quirk of the Samsung, I ended up teaching my cable box remote the volume up/down from the Base remote. How obtrusive the Speaker Base is depends on the height of the table top stand of your TV. I found the extra height from the Base adds an annoying extra height to the TV, an extra height that would be avoided by a sound bar. Summarising; it does what its supposed to, simply. Just be certain that that is ultimately what you want. As for Amazon: 2 Orders which were never even sent to the couriers, and a third order which ultimately got to me in spite of the utter rubbish sprouted to me by their support centres in Philippines and Caribbean (but a very nice chap in Ireland). At least they ultimately waived the international carriage cost, and on the third try sent by international priority. As for the 2 failed dispatches one remains, after 5 weeks "in transit" even though I have been refunded the cost, and the second is showing "reordered, awaiting return", that for an order that was never dispatched (though I asked for and got an email confirming that no return was actually expected).

Bought this to replace a dodgy LG bar and although not as punchy in the bass area it is a very good alternative. Good points are the ease of set up and usage, although the remote is more 'Fisher Price' than Denon quality and the most used buttons will wear out as the rubber is very thin. Denon say that it will learn from your existing remote so that could be used instead, although so far, we have been unable to do this, our sky remote seems to forget that it has Denon functions sometimes so we have given up on that. There are only 3 settings for sound and at first thought this was a little lacking in the function department, but after a couple of days it has shown to be perfectly adequate. The sound is clear, even at high volumes, the surround effect is basic but does work well. The bass, as mentioned earlier is not deep and there is no way to adjust it either up or down, however, when watching movies in the movie mode at a relatively high volume the sound is great. The bluetooth was a breeze to set up, it paired with ease to my tablet and phone. One aspect that has appeared to us, is the way it seems to attract a lot of dust, had to wipe it twice a day so far, must be something to do with the amp and static build up. So overall, it is a good buy and does its job well and for the price it is value for money, but remember, its not a Bose or Yamaha.

Sonido nítido y potente. Buena marca y buen precio. Para un uso doméstico es mas que suficiente y la instalación muy fácil. El manual viene muy bien detallado y te trae todos los cables listo para conectar y disfrutar de un gran sonido.

Denon reste une marque reconnue, donc globalement pas de mauvaise surprise. C'était pour offrir à un téléviseur dans une chambre un vrai son et j'avoue que j'ai été bluffé. Avant quelque soit le mode sonore du TV (film, musique, surround (la bonne blague celui-ci)) c'était pitoyable ça saturait dès qu'il y avait trop de son, les dialogues étaient mal restitué. On redécouvre le plaisir d'une immersion sonore ! Le mode apprentissage de la télécommande permet d'utiliser celle de la TV (sauf comme déjà dit par d'autres, il n'y a pas de possibilité pour le mode nuit), les 3 modes sonores sont suffisants et leur indication se fait par l'éclairage de led sur le plateau, idem pour le niveau de son. Appairage BT sans souci et je trouve même de bonne portée. L'avantage est la mise en veille et le démarrage auto avec le téléviseur et la sélection automatique de la source, il y a juste une petite latence de quelques secondes au démarrage. Mon Tv n'a pas de sortie optique, j'ai donc connecté en coaxial, aucun souci, grésillement ou même de décalage son/image. Pour les basses, certes ça ne fera pas trembler les murs, mais comme l'appareil est proche d'un mur je trouve que c'est satisfaisant, même pour la musique c'est vraiment bien. Acheté en solde à 149€ pour ce prix vous n'avez pas parfois d'enceinte BT portable digne de ce nom. Pour les basses certains préféreront du BOSE mais à quel prix...avec aussi moins de connectique. A noter qu'en s'enregistrant sur le site DENON vous obtenez 1 année de plus de garantie donc 2 ans + 1 plutôt pas mal

Eines vorweg - ich schreibe hier in meine Rezension etwas allgemeiner, da ich ein bisschen "aufklären" möchte und ich mit mehreren Soundbases Erfahrung gemacht habe. Habe mir die Denon DHT-T110 Soundbase gekauft, da ich genau wusste was ich möchte: Eine kompakte und unkomplizierte Lösung um die schlechten Lautsprecher meines Fernsehgeräts aufzuwerten. Und ich habe nicht mehr erwartet - ich denke dass ist nämlich genau das Problem vieler Leute hier - es wird eine Soundanlage erwartet, die mit einer 5.1 Anlage mithalten soll - das kann allerdings schon rein physikalisch gesehen keine Soundbase leisten. Was mir persönlich als erstes nach dem auspacken positiv auffällt - die Bedienungsanleitung ist sehr übersichtlich und verständlich geschrieben - auch wenn man sie nicht wirklich benötigt. Anschluss der Denon war kinderleicht - ich habe sie über den Coax Digital Anschluss an meinen Fernseher angeschlossen - Noch den Strom angeschlossen, angeschalten und "los gings". Aner nun ein sehr wichtiger Punkt - bitte testen Sie, bevor sie eine Soundbase als "schwach" oder "ungenügend" abstempeln, diese auch mit Musik oder einem Spielfilm. Hier kann die Denon seine wirkliche Stärke ausspielen - verstehen Sie mich nicht falsch - aber die meisten normalen TV Sendungen geben ein wirkliches Klangerlebnis einfach nicht her (auch übertragungstechnisch bedingt). Und ich spreche hier wirklich aus Erfahrung, da ich mir vor der Denon schon eine Canton DM 8.2 gekauft hatte - bei dieser Soundbase war es genauso - erst bei Musik oder Spielfilmwiedergabe kam der "Aha" Effekt. Musste leider die Canton durch einen Defekt nach ein paar Tagen zurückschicken. Auch noch ein kleiner Tip: schalten Sie die Denon Soundbase direkt in Benutzung einfach mal aus und lassen Sie den Ton direkt über die TV Lautsprecher laufen - hier hört man den eigentlichen Unterschied wirklich extrem (also war bei mir so!) Klanglich war ich von der Denon dann wirklich überzeugt - Höhen und Mitten werden klar wiedergegeben und der Bass ist wirklich super - nicht zu viel und nicht zu wenig - für so eine kompakte Anlage wirklich toll. Auch die verschiedenen "Klangbilder" sind nützlich - es gibt 3 verschiedene - rein subjektiv gesehen unterschieden sie sich vom Bassgehalt und des "Volumens" des Tons. Auch der Nachtmodus ist toll - in Kombination mit den "basslosestem" Klangbild für abendliche Filmgenuss wirklich zu empfehlen - wenn man niemanden stören möchte. Musik über Bluetooth? Kinderleicht! Bluetooth an der Denon einschalten und mit z.B. einem Ipad verbinden - das wars. Fazit: Grundsätzlich bitte bei einer Soundbase als Klanglösung fürs Fernseh oder Filmvergnügen realistisch bleiben und nicht mit einer 5.1 Anlage vergleichen - der Vergleich sollte hier wirklich direkt mit den integrierten TV Lautsprechern erfolgen - den dafür sind diese Soundbases gedacht! Und hier kann die Denon wirklich überzeugen - ein wirklich tolles Gerät - bin sehr zufrieden!
