So Simple and Yet So Outstanding!
I have been using the QuickPush Chopper everyday for about 1 week now and I am stunned to find myself describing somethign as simple as 'a veggie chopper' as being "Outstanding". I say "Outstanding" because: 1. The design is simple, uncluttered, unfussy and effective - simple to use, simple to clean, simple to maintain. 2. The manufacture is of a very high standard and is all the plastic and moving parts are robust, and the steel blades are sharp and also robust. 3. The effectiveness of use is consistent across a wide range of foodstuffs - soft, squishy, ripe tomatoes through to tough, thick sweet potatoes, turnips and cleriac; hard leafy cabbage to soft leafy lettuces; dense winter squashes and softer, summer squashes; onions, leeks, fennel and shallots; apples, pears, bananas and mangoes. Quality. When I watch adverts promoting American household items the main 'selling point' usually seems to be "time saving". Well, I live in rural France and, although I am British, I love cooking in the French-style. Quality and consistency are the critical success factors in French cuisines, not speed or convenience, and here is where I see the outstanding benefit of Brieftons Quickpush Chopper. The shape, size and consistency of chop, irrespective of the foodstuff, is fantastic - far superior than anything I can manage with my best Sabatier-K knife. (And, by the way, in a fraction of the time!!) I have been surprised and delighted by something I bought initially as an 'extra bit of kitchen kit', primarily to help my otherwise non-cooking partner, when they do make an effort to rustle-up a "spag-bol" or veggie casserole. This 'extra bit of kitchen kit' has rapidly turned into 'an essential bit of kitchen kit' and could well be putting some of my Sabatiers out of work! I strongly recommend the Brieftons QuickPush Chopper. PS - The Brieftons Spiralizer is fantastic as well!

Brieftons QuickPush Food Chopper
Brieftons QuickPush Food Chopper is the best gadget I have bought in the past 3-4 years. It is very simple, and has only two blades - I have not tried the small one so far, because the bigger one (which is small anyway), answers to all my chopping needs - be that chopping veggies for a Russian salad or for making soups or cooking other dishes. It assembles and dismantles easily, it is easy to wash - complete with a tiny but precise comb for making sure the top bit grate is washed properly. It is exactly what you see on the picture - and yet surprisingly useful Husband said the pieces were too small when I first used it to chop veggies for a Russian salad - but now even he thinks the chopper is good :) it definitely saves time and effort in the kitchen. I am very pleased with it. Still have not found a good mandolin grater - bought zillions of various novelty sets - to no avail... Adding this just to show that I am not a very easy one to please. However, the chopper is just the right one so far :)

Good basic chopper
Good vegetable chopper. i have 2 young children and i think only way to give them a variety of vegetables is to chop them quite finely and mix with food so that they are less likely to fuss about than forcing them to eat chunk of vegetables. i often make fried rice which is easy and healthy way to give children with all the goodness altogether carbs, vegs, meat / fish together. and i was chopping them finely all manually. previously had a couple of choppers but all failed to last long or didn't meet the expectation but i had gone back to manual way of chopping. but these days i had enough and was getting really tired of doing them all manually. i was considering between electric chopper or manual. but like i said, i had a couple of choppers and they were electric ones which all failed. so i bought this one. good bits: it's not a big machine so much easier to clean and wash them. also cleaning tool is useful to clean the foods which got stuck inside the gap. easy to store as it's small. it provides 3 style blades. all basic shapes but since i bought this for basic function, that's good enough for me. bitter bits: not so much however although the company provides cleaning tool, it still doesn't clean the foods that stuck properly and taking a bit of time. also if you chop hard vegs such as carrot (which i use often), middle of carrot is very hard and it's quite difficult to chop, or i have to press really hard several times. and tried the mushroom, but get stuck on top so easily get squashed then the blades also get lifted then stuck. also not sure if blades are so sharp enough i've tried broccoli, onions, carrots, mushrooms, courgette so far as i only received a few days ago. and the best vegs for this chopper i find is that non hard but not too soft (like mushroom), onions the best for this little chopper. i will keep trying other vegs. It's good enough chopper and simple to use, small to store. but don't expect too much. Hope my review was helpful ;) ---------------- Update 29/07/2016 it broke, inner plastic panels have been chopped along with carrots! i was so disappointed, and sent back to amazon for a full refund

Time saver
I have used a similar product in the past (the first nicer dicer that came out). We were thinking about getting a new nicer dicer as the old one was not so great anymore-bent blades etc. Decided to go for this lower priced one instead after seeing how highly rated it is on Amazon. So glad we did as it does work really well, the 3 sizes of blades are great for different applications, and I like the big container, as can chop many ingredients for a single dish into it before emptying, or just make the recipe in there such as a salad or a sauce. It is relatively easy to clean, and has a little tool to clean between the plastic teeth (or between the blades if anything gets stuck). The blades are sharp enough to also slice through tomatoes, although the small blade would mash it a bit. Overall it makes dicing much faster, and generally easier and is great for dices salads, salsas, diced veg for steaming or roasting, and many other things.

Sturdy, well made, and very useful
Item consists of 1) a very strong plastic tub with 4 rubber feet to prevent slipping. 2) A normal plastic container lid. 3) The actual chopping mechanism. 4) 3 Different sized chopping grids. 5) A cleaning device. 6) A set of useful instructions. If anyone has ever owned a 'chipper' its very similar to this, but the design of this is much improved over previous incarnations. We use this mostly for onions - to do this you have to peel the onion (remove top bottom, half, remove skin, and half again). Once you got the peeled onion in quarters, you're ready to go. Simply attach the chopping mechanism to the container, taking a little time to ensure you 'catch' it onto the plastic lip on the container. Once done, raise the lid, slot in the chopping blade of your choice - the instructions do make recommendations. For onion, we use either the small or medium one. Then using a bit of strength, just press the chopping mechanism lid onto the onion, which presses it onto the blade, and within seconds and a single push, you have diced onion. Use what you need, then put on the container lid, and store in the fridge. The instructions recommend part boiling harder root vegetables. Being honest, we didn't bother and just used some strength to push it through. The chopping mechanism is very sturdy, and the non-slip rubber feet on the container really work well to stop it from sliding around when cutting. The blades are very sharp. I was inquisitive (and stupid) enough to feel the blades when it arrived only to slice my finger! The container is also larger than anticipated which does mean it needs a little more cupboard space than expected, but the benefit of that is you can potentially chop a whole meal in it! Cucumber sticks, cheese sticks, carrots, potatoes, onion, peppers, you name it, we've cut it!

Disappointing
I have previously used the Alligator chopper which I found to be really good, however, the plastic is not sturdy enough and it never lasted very long. After reading reviews for this product, decided to give it a go. There are two main things I have issues with. The cutting area. This is too small. You need to cut up onions/peppers etc into smaller pieces to fit them on the cutting area - so more chopping sort of defeats the object. Secondly, the lid. Yes a lid is helpful, but it doesn't actually 'fit'. So if you prepare food and put the lid on and knock the container, the lid will come off. So it's sort of pointless. A fitting lid will stop things spilling out and keep the contents inside fresh. To top it off, the very first thing I tried to chop was a pepper, which didn't chop very well and a lot of it got mushed up. On the plus side, it's easy to clean and the container is a good size. But overall I wouldn't recommend this. I think I'll save up and buy the new Stainless Steel Alligator Chopper.

Rapid and easy to use
Bought the 3 blade version as it cost a mere £1.00 more than the 2 blade item , and has a larger collecting container. Delivery was quick - just 2 days. The item itself is well built and robust . The blades are very very sharp ( my finger can vouch for this ! ). The 3 blades cut items into 6mm , 13mm or 19mm cubes - and are suitable for a variety of produce . The max thickness of items to be chopped is 10mm ( 1 cm ) . A disappointment is it cannot handle dense / hard items , eg Swede , unless they are par boiled beforehand ( or are cut approx 5mm thick as we found by trial and error ) - we were only advised of this via a follow up email from Brieftons , after purchase of the item . There is no mention of this in the web advertisement for this item. Blade changing is easy and in use it is quick and mess free - we love it! Cleaning is simply too . The only thing I would like to have seen was a julienne blade . Highly recommened 9.5/10
