Sciatica/ Piriformis Syndrome- What, Where, How & Why: Learn to understand the feeling and healing of your pain! : FitzGordon, Jonathan: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: There must be better on the market - This book does have some very helpful information and tips for those of us who suffer the pain and discomfort of Piriformis Syndrome. However, this is over shadowed by how poorly the book is written and edited. The poor writing style hinders reading. As for the medical illustrations, they would be of great help to the reader if it was possible to see them. Even with a x10 magnifier I was not able to read the labels on the line drawings. And often the text makes reference to an illustration that is not even on the mentioned page! The editor and publishers should be shot! Although helpful, I'm sure there are other much better publications available. Review: Okay but not great - Provides a great description of the bodies components that relate to this extremely painful condition but does very little to describe how to avoid it or help recover from it. Yes, they are exercises in it but these are loosely described at the very end of the book. The diagrams are also too small to read!

Sciatica/Piriformis sydndrome
Sciatica/ Piriformis Syndrome- What, Where, How & Why I sent for this book at a really low point in my life after suffering several episodes of severe pain with sciatica and piriformis syndrome and having had a lot of time off work sick. I was beginning to think I was never going to recover or lead a normal life again and physiotherapy and stretching was agonising and seemed to be making things worse instead of better. When the book arrived I was a litle surprised at how small it was for the price but what a valuable little book it turned out to be. From the moment I started reading it suddenly everything made sense and following the exercises and recommendations really set me on the road to recovery, in fact I have just lent it to a colleague who is having the same problem. Expensive but invaluable and worth every penny to me.

I just received this book a few days ago. After doing a few of the exercises and learning and applying a few of the basic concepts, I am already on my way to solving my piriformus problem with a program that makes sense, and this appears to be better than anything else I have tried to solve this problem. Easy to read book with clear instructions for exercises.

I received this book, and the receipt was not included...I went online to see what I had paid. Over $16 for what is really a glorified printout from a website. While it had okay information, the print often refers to illustrations that don't exist, or the print instructs you to look at the red part of the illustration when all illustrations are in black and white. Additionally, much of the print is so tiny in the illustrations, you can't read them without magnification. Most significantly, the photographs that go with the exercises are very, very dark and in places hard to see. The directions that accompany the photos are okay, but with small, very dark photos to follow, I am very disappointed. It appears that the book was printed on April 12, 2013, in response to my order, which makes me think it is printed to order. So, perhaps mine was a copy that was very dark. Still, it speaks to quality control. For something that is a printout/pamphlet, I am very disappointed at the quality and cost.

Great advice distilled into a small, easy to read book. I highly recommended this book. It is really helping me.

Best advice the author offers at the end of the book is to "drink water." No kidding. Be aware that the few poses that were offered were not exercises but yoga moves. They are not designed for people experiencing pain and stiffness.

I have sciatica and piriformis problems and this book has been helpful with solutions to ease or get rid of pain and exercises too. I've had a few injuries over the years, paying the price now, but this is a good helpful book.
