An excellent coconut product for confections and savouries.
When compared with the shredded or flaked coconut stuff that you can find in UK supermarkets, Angel Flake is moist and it is sweetened. It is excellent toasted for icings and sprinkling on salads. Untoasted it works in ambrosia and Waldorf Salad. Great used (without toasting) in coconut shrimp... oops, prawns. Either use a fairly thick tempura batter, then roll in the shredded coconut before frying, or coat the shrimp in flour, egg then the shredded coconut. Fish cakes and crab cakes patted in the Angel Flake shredded coconut is also good, especially with Thai seasonings. Of course the coconut will become toasty during the cooking process adding that coconutty caramel flavour. If it weren't for Amazon, UK, I would still be frustrated that I was unable to find and cook with this product.

Moist Coconut I like. But at this price get the frozen version at Morrison’s for £1.
I have been searching for a moist shredded coconut like this for years. Supermarkets used to do one about 10 or so years ago, but now all I can find is desiccated gritty coconut. I cannot eat normal desiccated coconut as it chokes me too easily. But I can eat this moist longer shred without fear. I’m thrilled to have found this version. And although it’s not cheap compared to desiccated coconut, this is a good sized bag and to me it’s worth every penny for such a superior product. That review above this line was was March 2019 and I paid £8.70 for a 396g bag. Today it’s 29 November 2019 and I’ve looked for a bag similar price. In the end I went back to my last order to find the dealer. Only 2 sellers are selling this at ridiculously inflated prices. I won’t be paying the £31+ or the £43 being asked by the sellers. Instead I’ll be going to Morrison’s supermarket where they have a similar frozen product I’ve used successfully for £1 a packet in the frozen section.

Overpriced but delicious
It's so much nicer for baking with than desiccated coconut that about once a year I shut my eyes and ignore how stupidly expensive it is.

Delicious- but pricey
I bought the flaked coconut to decorate a friends birthday cake, I can’t believe that they t is t a standard product in the U.K. we only seem to have dedicated available in supermarkets. This was delicious and worked perfectly as the feathers on the chicken cake, it’s quite expensive for what it is but as it has to be imported it is understandable. Will be buying again as the American cake recipe was so yummy!

Awesomely delicious....
This product is great for adding to all coconut based recipes! I've had great fun with my purchase and I am sure you will too! There was a problem with my order to begin with, I did not receive it...however the seller was very efficient in dealing with matters and promptly sent another packet out. To my utter delight the coconut cake turned out to be the best yet. The coconut flake is perfect for topping cakes, not too thick or thin and is not mushy at all!

I have been purchasing Baker's Sweetened Coconut Flakes for several years, and have never been disappointed. We love Coconut, and Baker's gives that mouth-watering flavor added to many of our dessert recipes. We have added it to homemade cakes, cookies, cupcakes, candy and more. We enjoy it with vanilla or chocolate frosting, and these Coconut Flakes always taste fresh. In addition, we have sprinkled it over ice cream, which gives a delicious topping. Great for baking, and as a topping for ice cream treats. Highly recommended!

This worked very well for making "Perfect Coconut Macaroons" from All-Recipes.com. Good price for the quantity. I'm subtracting one star only for the ingredients. For something I'm going to keep refrigerated I'd rather not have the added preservatives. Anthony's Coconuts Unsweetened Shredded Coconut, which I also bought, contains nothing but coconut! I know not everyone cares so much about this, but the added chemicals do seem unnecessary. Good tasting product though, and to be fair, this product has much more moisture than does Anthony's (although both taste very good).

Baker's Coconut is the only coconut I would ever use for my signature Christmas rum balls, which the office waits for each year. Store-brand coconut is overly sweet and sugary and I would never use it. Stick with Baker's Coconut if you want an excellent product for your baking.
