Great for the price.
Well made and sturdy enough for DIY, seems the same as and as good as my old worn out Ever Ready I used for 20 years, extends nice, winds in nice. The winding knob takes a bashing if used often, I spray a little grease behind it to help prevent it from wearing out.

Heavy duty cable reel
I got this cable reel since I already had a 10-metre one by this company and know that the quality is excellent. The metal stand is solid and has a good non-slip handle. There is a thermal cut-out for safety since you do not always need to unwind the full reel and when there is a lot of cable left wound on when in use it produces heat. It has never cut out on me so far from light to medium use. The cable seems reinforced with a thick coating, much better than a domestic extension cord. For ease of use, you might want to opt for the fully-enclosed reel instead since the wire can slip off this one if not wound on properly.

Good quality overall - spool a bit annoying
This product is great, good length, construction etc. The only problem is that the spool is not quite big enough for the length of the cable. Feels like they used the same size as the shorter length. Tends to get a bit tangles. Otherwise good value for money!

Excellent Extension Lead
Excellent extension lead with 4 sockets. However total rating is still limited to 13 amps when fully unwound from the drum. When cable is still wound on the drum the rating is reduced to 5 amps. It is quite hard to rotate the drum with the little knob to feed the cable back on the drum and unfortunately the sockets rotate with the drum so it is necessary to disconnect anything plugged into it to adjust the free cable length. (it would need to be electrically much more complex to have static sockets while the drum rotated. I specifically bought this extension lead because it was sturdy, and the unwound and wound ratings were identified on the information plate. Many extension lead drums gave a rating but did not identify that it only applied to fully unwound nor give a partially wound rating for the lead.

A surprisingly decent little box of wire. Neat, tidy, and compact.
A lovely compact bit of kit. I've always had the normal Drum type long extension leads, and only took a chance on this as it was a good price. It's great. So easy to wind back up, thermal cutout, and 4 sockets. What more could you want? I do wrap it in a plastic bag when using it to power a pressure washer, and due to it's small size it's an easy thing to do. A surprisingly decent little box of wire.

Robust reel and good quality cable. Great for those really long cable runs. No more daisy chained leads !
At last. 50mtrs of cable without having to daisy chain multiple extension leads around the garden! Pros: Nice robust reel and good quality cable. Cons: 50mtrs is a lot of cable. Reeling back onto the drum can be a bit of a pain and takes time being careful to reel it up neatly. Final Thought: For runs much shorter than 50mtrs, then suggest purchasing a shorter cable reel, as the whole reel must be unravelled when using higher power (wattage) electrical tools. Attempting to use high wattage devices without uncoiling will result in the cable reel overheating! Be warned.
