extremely impressed
As any cat owner knows (especially owners of indoor cats), the bain of having said four legged friend is having to clean out their litter tray. I have two adult cats and previously I was using two covered litter trays with swing doors and while these were fine, cleaning them out was a real chore and therefore didn't get done as often as it should have been.I had looked at several "automatic" self-cleaning litter trays before but most of them relied on electric moving parts and inevitably got bad reviews so I never bought one. When I saw this self cleaning tray that doesn't rely on any fancy system that will inevitably break, I was far more optimistic and took the plunge. This is probably the best cat-related purchase I have made. It works like a normal litter tray, there's nothing to scare the cats off so there was no problem in my two converting to the new one. In order to empty it you simply roll the entire tray onto it's back and then return it to it's normal position. This pushes the clean litter through a filter while the clumped litter and "other bits" roll over the top of the filter and when you right it again, they fall into the waste tray which you then pull out and tip into the bin. The clean litter that went through the filter then goes back through into the main compartment. Voila, done! This is very easy to do and takes about a tenth of the time it does to normally empty two trays. The large product is big enough for two cats without needing to buy another one and I have had no problems with it at all. There have been some negative reviews about the waste sticking to the top of the housing when you roll it but as long as you roughly know your cats' habits and leave enough time for everything to dry after they have done their business before emptying the tray, this won't be a problem. Other bad experiences are down to not using the right litter I think, you do need to use clumping litter. I use an ultra clumping litter from pets at home (only £4 a bag) and it works a treat. The other thing you need to make sure of is that you fill the tray with enough litter so it is deep enough for your cat(s) to bury their waste without it touching the bottom, otherwise it will stick there. In terms of negatives, there really aren't many at all. The build quality is maybe a little flimsy but I have experienced no problems with it staying together, this also means that it's very light which of course helps with all the rolling! The only other issue is that the opening doesn't have a cover so if you have a cat who likes to really dig and kick the litter all over the place it might get flung out of the hole onto the floor. My two are kickers and even then, there isn't much on the floor outside the box. That's about it really! Overall, a brilliant tray which makes cleaning up your cat's waste an absolute doddle. Just make sure you've used the right litter and leave it until the end of the day to empty so everything is dry and this product will be an absolute godsend. Easier for you so the tray is emptied when it should be and therefore happy cats. Great product and it was delivered very promptly.

Not without its problems
The idea is great makes an horrible job a little less unpleasant I really couldn't go back to a rack and shovel. You need to experiment with different types of clumping litter as some can be very stubborn and will just stick to the bottom, tried sainsburys, pets at home and various branded all didn't work too well, Tescos clumping has been by far the best where the others fail with this system Tescos seems to stick far less aggressively to bottom. Why one star? The construction is weak, the design problem lays with the sifting part, the sifting piece is a one part affair that folds to form a right angle in the inside of the box. I say folds because that exactly what it does, no hinge just ultra thin score in the one piece sifting part. As you can imagine you will need to regularly clean the box and its inners. Over the space of the 3 months I've had it the score in the folding siv is slowly turning into a detachment you can clearly see the stressed plastic in my photo. The catches are weak, you have three of them to keep the top bolted to bottom. To sum upProsGreat conceptGood removal of waste providing it doesn't get stuckConsWeak design it will not last long. Rubbish brittle plastic. You need to experiment with brands of litterTo expensive for a throwaway litter boxWeak catches****Update****Amazon customer service first class no fuss, replaced my broken litter box. Thank you Amazon.

Amended review after 5 years use - still good, but not perfect
5 years on:After using this for 5 years now, with 2 older aged cats, I’ve amended my review from 5 to 4 stars for 2 reasons.1. The partition screen that is critical to the separation of the poo & wee soaked litter for removal is splitting on the hinge. This has been steadily getting worse, as it’s not possible to remove it for cleaning without giving it a good tug (which makes the split worse).2. The drawer where the dirty litter is collected doesn’t fit terribly well, so when you tip the tray upside down, you do get clean litter leaking out of the gap. Even trying to hold the drawer in place whilst tipping doesn’t work.In my original review I’d also mentioned a concern about the clips that hold the lid on. I can report they have lasted very well and not one has broken, which is good!I do still think it’s a good litter tray, and 5 years isn’t a bad lifetime. Not sure I’d be willing to pay the price for another one though, as my cats are already 15...———————————Original review:Even after reading the reviews, I was still somewhat skeptical that this could be as great as everyone says. A cat litter tray that's easy to clean out feels a bit like the holy grail for cat owners! I for one have never been a big fan of the manual effort involved in the standard versions, but didn't fancy shelling out for some kind of automated version that would probably break down after a week or so.So we've had this rolling version for a little over a week now, and the whole family has been impressed by how quick and easy this is to clean out. The first time I tried it (boy I had to be patient waiting for the cats to actually go use it!), I could not get over how quick it was to do - 30 seconds tops, and the job was done! No mess, no fuss. Simples :) Even the kids want to have a go!I do sometimes have to give it a few taps on the bottom to loosen the clumps which can get stuck to the bottom/side of the tray. But to be honest, it doesn't take much to loosen them off. We bought Bob Martin Antibacterial Ultra Clumping litter to go with this, which I will review separately.Another (unexpected but much appreciated) benefit is that the tray is very deep, meaning the join between tray and lid is much higher than most lidded trays. We've had problems with this previously, as one of our cats likes to wee right against the back wall, and with previous trays this has ended up leaking through the join and getting on the floor. So far, we don't seem to have had that problem with this one.The only slight downside to this product is the clips which fasten the lid to the tray. They don't feel very secure or sturdy, unlike the rest of the tray which is a good solid plastic. However, although they don't feel that sturdy, so far they have done the job so to be honest it's only a little niggle that doesn't impact on performance. All in all, this is a GREAT product, and I would heartily recommend it to any cat owner!

Love it
We have four cats, and the process of bending over and scooping the litter box can be quite taxing. After filling the box, it can be challenging to turn and remove the debris. The only downside is that the grate that sifts the litter does not always stay in place, which can be time-consuming to fix. Despite this minor inconvenience, I have four of these litter boxes because they are generally effective.

Its no robot but better than scooping by 1000
I have 5 cats so I am a pretty much a litterbox expert. I have a litter robot and even though I love it, I'm not trying to drop the $$ for multiple which I need bc 5 cats. This replaced my least favorite one, but soon will be replacing at least 1 more. (Lots of cats = Lots of litter boxes)Overview:It looks like the picture and doesn't look bad at all.The Large sized box is perfect even for my very giant big boy cat. It's easier to clean than I thought and man it's helping the smell of the room it's in.All the details:So. It took me a moment to figure out how to put it together but its really not that hard. It doesn't feel incredibly high quality so that made me a bit nervous, but has proved to be a non issue. It took quite a bit of litter to fill but I've only been adding just a litter more every other day thus far. The tilting part is no big deal it's designed to be super easy and even has a hand graphic to show you where to tap. So far it's felt solid every time. After getting your daily rage out you can hear the clumps falling where they go and you're almost done. ***Pro Tip**** Make sure to tilt it back the other direction farther than you think you need to so the litter comes back to the center. Lastly the drawer, it's going to need a good wipe down regularly but it's so nice to just pull that out and I put it in my robot litter box trash. I'd suggest a grocery sack or something otherwise. Oh and even though it's deep, my cats still manage to get litter all over the place but I think that's a me problem. You should buy this I mean it!!!!If you're thinking about it- you will be so glad you did. The price is such a steal but I have no idea how all the different price points are different. I got the cheapest size Large one.

Cheap but good
What I say this the best build cat box in the world no. However, it is such a smart design for such a good price. My cat absolutely loves his box. It's lightweight and very easy to use.

quicker cleaning of litterbox
very easy to you - just roll until all litter is out of sight then roll back and clumping litter stays in tray to be disposed ot

Nice.
Nice and easy just roll it.The plastic seems a bit flimsy but really not that bad since we've had it for a long time and the most that's happened to it is scratches.hasn't cracked or anything.
