Yamaha Tenor Sax Mouthpiece 4C

Excellent mouthpiece for beginners and intermediate players. Yamaha quality. Highly recommend.

I was given a new Stagg Tenor sax for a birthday gift. As a moderate player having read the Haynes Manual for Saxophone by Stephen Howard, I knew he rated some cheaper saxes but said always to replace the initial mouthpiece, The mouthpiece that came with the Stagg sounded ok at first but when you listened properly to the quality of the first ie lowest notes from first B flat to C sharp they were fine, however after C sharp the tone deteriorated massively and be cane thinner, and the higher notes were thin and squeaky at best!! I happened to know Stephen Howard and he recommended me to get the 4 c from Yamaha. It has a narrow tip opening so ideal for early players still building embouchure and stamina. I ordered it and the difference both in quality of sound and appearance was huge!!!! I'd recommend anyone who is a novice player , still using the mouthpiece that came with their student model sax, which in itself might be ok, to chuck out the mouthpiece and replace it with a Yamaha 3c or 4c....your playing will leap forward. Best money I spent....ever!!!

These are ok for a beginner, better than the usual rubbish supplied with a cheap horn. However, no two are the same, they all vary a bit but you get what you pay for.

Replaced a previous identical mouthpiece that I somehow carelessly chipped. For a beginner or casual player this is a way of upgrading to a decent, playable mouthpiece without breaking the bank. Obviously you can get much better if you pay the bucks but exceptional quality and value for money in it's price range, so 5 stars. Far better than the unbranded one that came with the instrument.

Good mouth piece works well.

Really pleased with the purchase. I've recently started learning on a Jericho Tenor saxophone. I love the horn but was struggling with the mouthpiece. I was advised to but this mouthpiece, now the Jericho sax sounds excellent. The mouthpiece is really easy to blow and I'm practising loads more now because of the boost.

Got the 4C to use on a Wanagisawa T800. I am a beginner and found I could get a good sound with this and a 2 1/2 reed. Using a Fibracell and it seems to go well with the 4C

Very good quality in comparison to the one included with my Cecilio TS-380 Tenor saxophone. It also improved the sound with the reed that came with the sax, probably related to the fact that the surface where the reeds lie is flatter and smoother.

Toco el Saxo a cada día y la verdad que la boquilla es de muy buena calidad, suena muy bien y es cómoda. Compra recomendada para quien toca el saxo.

私にとっては発音、レスポンス、コントロール性が良くいわゆる有名メーカー品以上に使えるモデルです。ヤマハの技術力は「付属のマースピース」を超え素晴らしいにつきます。個体差のあるオットーリンクラバーで苦労して吹奏感〜吹きやすさの良いものを探すより無理して開きを広げずこのオープニング1.70mmで個人的に正解でした。自分にあったオープニングがあるそうで、その相性の良いオープニングで長い期間修練した後にどうしても最初のマウスピースに飽きたらなくなたらその時に初めて他のモデルへ移行すべきとの示唆が良く理解できます。標準的イコールある意味オールジャンルで使い熟しできそうです。個人的に音の強弱、ニュアンスつけ、最強音〜最弱音に至るまでコントロールが大変しやすくいわゆる「音抜け」抜群です。息が持ってかれることなく無駄なく音に変換されており吹き心地が良く吹いてることが楽しく練習時間が楽しい時間になっております。私個人としてはヤマハ製サックスのエントリー〜中級以上上級以下のモデルの標準マウスピースであることで本体との相性がとても良いのではないでしょうか? やはりヤマハ製サックスとのバランスがとても良い感想です。本体はYTS34Ⅱを使用しております。材質がプラスチック製で明るくレスポンスがとても良く同ヤマハカスタムより好みです。このモデルは意外に、マウスピースメーカーブランドより「実」を〜名よりも実の典型モデルではないでしょうか？ 良く「単に音がでるその音がそっけない」との評価は個人的は違うと思います。とにかくとても良いマウスピースです。長く愛用しこのモデルで音を育てて行きたいモデルです。
