It is nice to hold the badge again after all these years
It is nice to hold the badge again after all these years. I left the Royal Engineers in 1967 alter a total of 17 years service. I am now 81. I still have my original King George VI Cap.badge. After serving 3 years at Chepstow I became a FITTER RE in 1953. The Queen was Crowned just after but as all the new Badges were being issued to Soldiers taking part in parades for the coronation us new members got the old badges. When we were issued with the new badges shortly after they never asked for the old badges back.

Bit disappointed by method of attaching to beret
Was for my beret but not understanding why the cap badge needs to be so complicated, two holes needed in the beret instead of one! Why?
