Brilliant Grind and Brew Coffee Machine!
This coffee machine is well designed for ease of use and simplicity. The grinder and filter assemblies easily lift out for cleaning and the jug is double walled for long heat retention - and made of stainless steel, not breakable glass. The grinder can't be adjusted and is optimised for filter coffee production. I don't know why coffee machines have a fine to coarse setting on their grinders when a fine grind allows more of the coffee essence to percolate into the hot water. There's a button for 1-4 cups which toggles on-off. When off the grinder will run for longer. Coffee strength is controlled by adding the exact number of beans to achieve the required strength, given the quantity of water added. I.e., I add water for two cups and have established the number of beans that will give my preferred strength by experimentation. The grinder runs for long enough that all beans will be ground. I hope this makes sense. I like this feature as it gives complete control over the coffee strength. Machines that have a large bean hopper and run for preset times according to the cup number setting can produce inconsistent coffee strengths. I hope I've explained this well. It can also use pre-ground coffee. The machine has more than exceeded my expectations!

Good coffee and wake-up call
Does everything it says on the description like the fact can use beans or already ground coffee. Timer works well and the pieces especially the grinder is able to be removed and washed easily. The only 2 issues you might find is that the grind is medium and even using the option for 2 to 4 cups you won’t get a finer grind which you would then need a standalone grinder. The only issue which might have been deal breaker is its loud, loud enough that I live in a well insulated home with a door and bedrooms upstairs and when my wife uses the grind option it never fails to wake me up it’s that loud or before using it while the family is in the lounge which is open plan you have to give a warning to prepare yourselves which sons my son running to another room until done but it’s all good to purchase if you understand again it’s loud.

A good machine with flawed design
I really wanted to keep this machine as it is well constructed and the pot break-proof, but unfortunately I had to return this product after using for a few days, as I also had to do with the Russell Hobbs 14899 for the same reason. The problem is you just cannot make a decent cup off of coffee. I was looking for normal strength filter, as you would get in say Starbucks, nothing too unusual. I then experimented with the same beans but purchased pre-ground and using the machine set to filter mode (not grind), coffee was fine. The problem I think comes down to the grinding, this type of bean to cup machine cannot grind the beans to a fine enough consistency. I did not use the timer but previous reviews are correct, without pre-warming the pot, the coffee will not be hot enough, which of course make the timer function useless. The bean feeder works ok, but only holds enough for one brew and does have to be cleaned after every use, otherwise the oil from the beans builds up and creates a blockage, a bit fiddly and time consuming. I would have lived with all these shortcomings as its such a well designed and substantial machine, but not if it cannot produce decent coffee, of no use.

Excellent
This is an excellent product and first class build quality. I have read some of the comments here and to be quite honest i find the negative ones quite trivial Cleaning is very simple The carafe pours easily Coffee is not supposed to be served "piping hot" as the coffee becomes burnt in the process and this machine produces coffee which is at the correct temperature For one person it is adequate if you do not fill it totally to the 10 cup mark I was quite surprised at the quietness of the grinding function and also the speed As far as I am concerned thsi is by far the best coffee maker I have owned and I am impressed by the quality level of this unit

Good
It's a good coffee machine. It does make a huge noise when grinding the coffee, but I suppose that's just the way it is. I'm just a bit disappointed about the coffee can, I thought it would hold the coffee a little longer warm. But overall I'm very pleased with it!

Cuisinart coffee maker
This was as new when arrived, not just very good as stated. Having used it daily since I received it I love it. Makes fantastic coffee and from the gripes of having to clean it after use from other buyers so what it's quick to do. Cleans up a treat and I mainly use the 1- 4 cup setting (2 cups is roughly a mug of coffee). I have used the grinder and found no lumpy bits in my coffee. I also open the carafe to drain the last dregs out as with the lid on it it does retain some coffee. This is no problem to me as I I just take the lid off. Worked a treat with the delayed time setting, though for some reason it does not show a.m but does show p.m, it does this on a friends one as well. Instruction clear and straight to the point.

Great in theory, not so much in practice
My mom was insistent on getting us a quality coffee-maker for a house-warming present (she knows how much I like a good cup of coffee). Until we got this, we'd just been using instant - it was quick and easy in the morning. After much research, we decided to get this one with the idea that it would be nice to just wake up to the coffee and we could do all the work in the evenings. Great in theory, not in practice. The other reviews complaining about the coffee not being hot enough are true (and I'm not one that's particular about the temperature). The only way to get a properly hot cup is if you rinse the carafe with hot water prior to making the coffee - which entirely negates using the program feature. If, however, you rinse the carafe with hot water to warm it up first, the coffee is lovely and stays warm for a long while inside. As a result, this has all become a bit too much for a couple of cups of coffee every morning. It is great for after-dinner coffee when we have guests though :)

I had one for 6 years with glass jar, the metal jar is bad. Coffee is not hot ever.

We enjoy having freshly brewed coffee ready when we get up. The appliance is easy to use and the timer is accurate. Instead of a hot plate that continues to cook (and burn) the coffee, the insulated carafe keeps it hot for a couple of hours. This is our second Cuisinart - the first one (same model) started leaking from one of the internal seals - but it took 7 years for it to start having problems.

This is our third machine from Cuisinart. We replaced the previous machine because it developed a slight leak from the base after many years of use.
