The Surfboard Book: How Design Affects Performance

OK I've read a lot of books on surfing and surfboards over the years, and this is the best one I've read on surfboards. I have a few niggles over style (and more importantly) content but not enough to reduce it to 4 stars.If you want to understand how and why surfboards work well in some conditions and not so well in others, then this is the book for you.I do have one big issue - the print quality isn't fantastic, and yes on the last page it has the dreaded words "Printed .... by Amazon".

Informative and well laid out book.The book follows a logical structure to layout and explain basic design and performance principals with simple physical and engineering concepts to educate the reader on how surfboard design features work, when and why.This book helps the reader to understand which boards will suit you and why and is, more broadly, an interesting read.

Good if you are looking to get a grasp of the technical side of surfboard design but expensive for what it is.

Great book

My son really loves this book- he's into design and surfing and this meets the bill!

Perfect to understand the board you surf and to give feedback to your shaper
