OtterBox SYMMETRY SERIES Case for iPhone 8 Plus & iPhone 7 Plus (ONLY) - Retail Packaging - THROWING SHADE (WHTE/ROASTED TAN/THROW SHADE)

If you are buying this case for your beautiful, glossy, JET BLACK iPhone 7 Plus - specially so you can show off your awesome new phone thanks to the "clear" and "crystal" back on this Otterbox case -- STOP! The back on this case is "frosted". It is NOT "clear" and it is NOT "crystal". But, it will make your sexy, glossy, jet black iPhone look exactly like "space gray".I purchased 5 of these and have been in contact with both Amazon and Otterbox about the inaccurate description. I purchased them after being very satisfied with 5 of the same cases for the iPhone 6, which actually were "clear" (see my photo).In my opinion, Otterbox did make some improvements to this Symmetry case with more responsive buttons that seem easier to push than they were on the iPhone 6 Plus case. Unfortunately, they then screwed it up by making the clear plastic not clear at all.If you don't care about showing the color of your phone, this is still a good case. But, if you do care about showing the color (why else would you want a CLEAR case?), then this may not be the case for you.UPDATE (12/29/2016): An Otterbox representative responded to my concerns with "I am so sorry to see that! That case is very cloudy and it should be crystal clear like your iPhone 6s case! We can certainly replace that case for you under our warranty." I will provide another update when the replacements arrive.UPDATE (1/12/2017): The replacement cases from Otterbox finally arrived and I'm happy to report the replacements are indeed "CRYSTAL CLEAR", just like the old iPhone 6/6 Plus model. I'm very happy with the replacements and therefore will update my review from 2-stars to 4-stars. This would be a 5-star product if the manufacturer had better quality control and got it right the first time. But, Otterbox does stand behind their product and will correct problems when reported to them. If you end up with a "cloudy" case instead of clear - let them know about it and they will make it right.

First impression: it's a very well made product, but it's big!It doesn't add too much thickness to the phone itself but it makes it wider/taller and therefore slightly less uncomfortable to hold - I don't know if it's just a matter of getting used to. The back plastic material is very hard and rigid, not shiny so I think it'll be better handling little scratches but it's still quite slippery. I like the internal rubber material, it feels slightly like the rubber of car tyres, so hopefully it doesn't peel off after a while. The phone does feel heavy with it, honestly, if I drop the phone while in case it'd probably dent my wooden floor than the other way around.I have a tempered glass protector on, but there's still some slight amount of raised lip to protect the screen. It's the best case I have in terms for protecting the back camera lens, other cases still allow the camera to protrude out ever so slightly. It's also surprisingly quite easy to get the phone on and off the case, I was worried about that because I like to clean my phone/case regularly and some reviewers noted their difficulty in getting the phone off the case.The only downside is that it makes the power button much harder to press, the volume buttons are okay though, so I don't know what's with that.I've attached some photos, including some next to Speck Candyshell for iPhone 6 Plus. You can tell the Symmetry is definitely wider and taller compared to Candyshell, it's also heavier (by about 10 gram but you can tell), but I prefer Symmetry's rubber material and I feel overall the Symmetry case is better made with more of that "premium" feel.Pros:- Well made product- Good all around protection- Quite easy to put on and take offCons:- Still quite big and heavy (it's about 58 gram, for comparison the Candyshell is 45 gram)- Made the phone wider/taller than what it is- Power button very stiff

I bought this case for my iPhone 7 Plus that is Rose Gold, and purchased this case mainly because it'll protect it, but also because it was clear so people would still be able to see my Rose Gold back on the phone. I read many reviews of others receiving this case and saying that it wasn't as clear as they thought it would be and instead frosty.I am here to say this case was CLEAR on my phone, you can see the Rose Gold perfectly, it fits and looks so well that it almost looks like the case is Rose Gold. Fits great and tight.

3 weeks of use and the clear part of the case turned a nasty yellow color. I bought a similar one from otter box last time and it took well over 6 months to start yellowing.

I put my phone in my back pocket and after the first day the pink border turned blue from my jeans

I bought this product thinking it was a cover for both the front and back of the phone, but it is not. It only protects the back of the phone.

fits well...does seem to muffle my microphone...and side buttons are harder to operate

Fits my new iPhone 8 plus like a glove, but allows all buttons and ports to be accessible. Purchased a different case first but it did not fit.

I bought this product seeing that it was a trusted "brand" and seeing that it had all the qualities I like in my phone covers.

Very durable but still turned yellow after a few months.

The color is as pictured, very vibrant and lovely. It is a single layer design, which I wasn’t aware of when I purchased it, and which I don’t like.

you can tell this case was expertly crafted. the material is strong. lines are clean. the product bends where it has to protect your phone, while cheaper cases crack and break.
