Knitting for the Absolute Beginner (Absolute Beginner Craft)

This is the second copy of this book that I have purchased. I got the first, just to see if I could use it with the kids I work with, to help them when I was not there to show them how to knit, or the other tips and tricks I could show them. Well, that first book was a godsend! So now the second one is also for them as on occasions' two of the girls were squabbling over who would need it most! As there are two more girls now wanting to learn to knit, I may need to buy more copies. It has helped them understand not only how to knit, but how to read a pattern and the patterns that are included have been their inspiration to try and make items for Christmas presents which being handmade are truly appreciated by friends and family alike.

I bought this book as a gift for a close friend who wanted to improve her knowledge of knitting and also her techniqueAnd I thought that this would be a good choice for her, idoot k)ow how she is getting on right now, but she was well pleased withher gift!

Great pictures and easy to follow instructions, I did have to youtube one or two things as I just couldn't figure it out initially but after that this book is great at helping me knit!

Nice pictures with instructions but 100’s of books like this, bought 2nd hand, glad I did not buy new. This can all be found on internet

I have only just started knitting, I found this book instructions easy to follow and had some great ideas.

This really helped me start knitting and get into being able to make garments and things for myself. A little difficult to follow some of written instructions but a combination of illustrations, words and you tube demos I have loved knitting.

This is a small but informative book about starting to knit, covering the various stitches, casting on, adding & decreasing stitches.I find this book helpful.

Lovely book. Lovely handy size , simple explanations. Only thing I don't like about it is that Alison tell you a branded wool to use ( Rowan wool) and the first project I pulled up I did a search for the specific wool only to find it had been discontinued! I wish she'd given more open suggestions for the wool like weight and general type . It took me quite some time to find a similar wool based on ball weight and length.

Lots of great patterns.

This book covers most everything needed to know about beginning to knit. Needles, accessories necessary, yarn types, how to start out, projects to make and fixing mistakes.

Easy to understand & follow the captions etc

love the size of book, can easily store it in your to go knitting bag and the book lies flat because of the ring style bonding
