Good quality, and works well
I have managed for many years using a chain splitter to pop a rivet to take the chain off, or occasionally removing the split link with a pair of needle-nosed pliers, but I always found it a bit of a faff. I put off buying these for a long time because it seemed expensive for something I'll use for a few seconds about once a month. Finally I bought them and I wish I'd bought them years ago. They are nicely made, feel robust and comfortable in the hand, and they opened the link in my Shimano chain with no effort at all in about half a second. Rejoining the chain is a tad fiddlier, but it is a job which can be done in 5 seconds with this tool. There is no need to file off the stop, as some reviewers have suggested. Just ensure that the tool is inserted deeply enough into the gaps in the links. This tool is a delight to use. I shouldn't have thought about how little time I'd spend using it, but how much time I'd save by using it. I have 2 bikes and remove the chains to clean and wax them about once a month.

Did the job nicely - but need to pull hard
Did the job and save me money on chain fitting fees, if the handles were one inch/2.5cm longer they would have much better leverage when installing a split link, but maybe then it would be harder to take out the split link! I am sure I will learn how to use them better as I change more chains on my bikes.

Great tool
I've had this a while and used it loads on my 11-speed MTB. Tried with both KMC and SRAM quick links and works a treat. Great that it works in both directions to spread and close the link, and to squeeze and open the links. Feels good quality too. And the clip to keep it shut when not in use is a welcome bonus.

Per chi si destreggia nella manutenzione della propria bicicletta è uno strumento indispensabile. Ottima fattura, buono la presa e le dimensioni più generose di altri concorrenti sono un vantaggio perchè riducono lo sforzo applicato per sganciare e riagganciare la "falsa maglia". Consigliatissimo.
