Superb little speaker. Amplifies very well - crisp and clear. Robustly made too. Good internal battery life with quick recharge. I have used it nearly daily since purchasing it nearly two years ago and it’s as good now as it was then.

To set this review up, my partner and I was expecting and she had one request for when she went into labour, can she have Meatloaf playing! So I took it on myself to find a wee speaker with a decent battery and which sounded good to play out the legends tones. I looked a at a good few speakers and kept coming back to this Anker. I know the brand as I've bought gear from battery packs, cables, adapters and wireless pads, and each one has just lasted. The brand has gone strength to strength and once known for being a very cheap alterative is now a good reasonable priced good which are great in quality. I wouldn't say its a speaker that you would carry in your pocket but it will easily hide away in a bag to bring out when needed. I will especially take it camping as its loud enough to hear out in the wild but you aren't going to be getting any noise complaints from anyone else. One feature I love is it can take a mini SD card. I've yet to try it but again going camping or hill walking, it will save my phones battery when I want to listen to music. The main event to which I bought it for went great, in the end my partner had to get a selection and the theater staff where happy for us to bring it in and one of the staff loved the size. Once we got it hooked up with mininal fuss it got playing some of the missus top Meatloaf tunes and we could hear every word with all the chaos in an operating theater. The music sounded great and the battery life kept on going as we even used it along with my Kindle to watch movies while the new baby slept. Can't say much more than that.

I am never one to write reviews, in fact this is my first, but this speaker has changed me. Do not get me wrong, it does not have the best sound quality by any means, nor is it that loud, especially in an outside setting. That being said, the loudness is just about perfect for a chill out with some mates, and the sound quality is acceptable. When inside it is not too bad, but as mentioned outside, it is not the best. I managed to purchase this on Prime Day, heavily discounted, which was an added bonus. The amount of times I dropped it, in the first couple years of ownership, and it still worked, surprised me - dropping it on all surfaces seemed to have no effect: grass, carpet and concrete all had no effect. Surprisingly, the single bit of cosmetic damage it has picked up in its life time was the smallest of dents in the top of speaker, caused by a cologne bottle in a rucksack - which I found rather amusing. Although, all of this is irrelevant. What really made me write this review is what happened a few weeks ago. I had taken the speaker kayaking with some friends, which was easy with the Soundcore Mini being so small. I had stuffed it down the side of me in the kayak, and as I was only on a fun little paddle with some friends I had opted not to attach the kayak's spray skirt. Forgetting that I had not attached it, I did a sharp turn, causing the Soundcore Mini to fall out of the kayak and into the lake. Initially I had not realised that the speaker had fallen in - all I heard was a splash. I frantically looked around the kayak to see what was missing, hoping it wasn't my phone, or worse, my lunch. It was not until a friend pointed out they could see my speaker sinking to the bottom of the lake, that I realised that my companion, of now five years, was drowning. That endless bubbles rising to the surface further fuelled my panic. I thought 'I am going in after it', but that is easier said than done. Trying to jump out of a river runner kayak, which is rather overkill for a lake, is incredibly difficult without capsizing. I eventually got in the water, and watched as the last few bubbles rose to the surface. I dove down, and by some miracle I actually found the speaker on the lake floor. In total, the speaker would have been fully submerged in water for two minutes. I returned to land and connected to my speaker. To my surprise it actually turned on. Even more surprisingly, I could connect to it. I played a song. The sound was incredibly muffled. I decided the best thing to do was to play heavily bass boosted music on maximum volume, and place the speaker upside down so the water could escape. After doing this for about two days on and off, the speaker sorted itself out, and the sound quality and volume was back to how it was before going for a swim. May I also point out that the speaker is not advertised as being waterproof. Never have I been more amazed in my life. If you want a pretty cheap, INDESTRUCTIBLE speaker, that you can just throw in your bag and take wherever, no matter the conditions, weather, location, etc. then this is the one. A compromise on sound quality and volume is needed, but when you are out and someone asks if anyone has a speaker, you can be the plug and, this is definitely better than not having one at all. One improvement I think could be made, although it is easier said than done from a production perspective, is to add a loop or hole that you could pass a carabiner through, so the speaker could be attached to the side of a rucksack or a belt. Also, you could attach it to the kayak seat... just in case. But to be fair, I just put it in the bottle holder on the side of my rucksack and that works perfectly fine. Side note: if bored it makes a good substitute for a ball to play catch with.

I bought this speaker for my nephews birthday,he was really delighted with it. It’s a great little speaker,perfect size to take away if you’re travelling,going to uni or just handy to have at home! The sound quality is amazing, it connects up to Bluetooth easily & is very easy to use. All in all it’s a great buy.

Had this for 7 years and I'm still always amazed at the sound quality for something so small and portable. Charge still lasts ages too

I love this little speaker. I take it with me on holiday and it's a nice little boom box for the hotel room. The sound is much better than what your phone can produce, and it's surprisingly loud and clear for something so small. Bluetooth connectivity is a doddle, and the battery seems to last well between charges. I've got a few Anker-branded items now, and they all work brilliantly. Fast becoming a go-to brand that offers great value for money.

It’s a good working Bluetooth speaker!

For such a small speaker this has great sound and a really good battery life. I use in my car because it is old and does not have Bluetooth and I could not be happier. I play music, audiobooks and podcasts. Cannot best the price.
