Good for iaido
After trying quite a few pads for iaido these are the most comfortable and allow sliding but they do need to be just a little thicker

Skinny
Good quality; thin enough to fit under some skinny trousers, but thick enough to do their job (light protection - not suitable for tilers/builders etc). I should add that you'll want to go a size up from the chart if you have particularly muscular calves and thighs: that goes by knee circumference, and I guess assumes a runner's physique for the rest of the fitment.

Tried these for work where I'm constantly crawling around on my knees I have to say they seem great so far really comfortable and do what I need from them ..wish I brought some years ago

really good
These are great. Bought for a Tough Mudder event and really helped with the crawling/climbing bits. After the obstacle I would slide them down to my shin while running and they were so light you wouldn't notice they were there. Came home, stuck in the washing machine good as new. Would recommend.

Not for grappling!!
Used these for BJJ, within 2 weeks of training they were ruined....the foam hex’s fell apart offering no protection.They looked good, felt good, light weight - but were not up the standard required for grappling.They might be alright for other sports, but unfortunately unsuitable for BJJ/MMA/wrestling etc

Excellent lightweight, comfortable
Excellent lightweight, comfortable, strong, well made item which I actually use as a shin pad for football games with friends, although I would definitely use it as a knee or elbow pad if I needed to protect or support any sort of injury. In fact I have just ordered another pair to use when the current ones become worn, just in case they stop making them !

Great protection
Bought these for my knees on a recent snowboarding holiday and I must say they feel like they will offer great protection (although I never took any serious falls to test them out!). I was initially concerned at the build quality (the stitching around the elastic doesn't appear too great), but they survived a week of extensive use and seem like they've got plenty of life left in them.Overall, a real bargain!
