Excellent but a little hard to read
Clip on the side moves for whatever pan you are using but can be a bit awkward to slide up and down. The actual temperature reading is quite small and not as easy to see as I would have liked but I can see it with reading glasses on. When I bought this it was to help with making Scottish Tablet, notoriously difficult to get right and this thermometer has helped massively and paid for itself on preventing wasted effort and ingredients. Would definitely recommend after the couple of weeks I’ve had it and the times I’ve used it so far (as would my friends who have been used to “test” the finished tablet lol) Storage tube an extra bonus.

Seems to be well made.
The item arrived quickly and I have only awarded 4 stars because I haven’t actually used it yet, so feel it unfair to give 5 stars for a product I haven’t tested. Having said that it seems to be very well made and I like the fact that it has a cover which I didn’t realise when purchasing.

Better than Tala
I had a Tala jam thermometer that I'd been using for many years quite happily. However, after making some yogurt (BBC good food slow cooker yogurt if anyone's interested in making some!) I had to scrub the thermometer to remove dried on milk. The lettering came straight off, rendering the thermometer useless. This one has the measurements inside the casing of the thermometer so I won't encounter that problem again. It also comes with a plastic case for safe storage. The whole thing is glass so feels a little more delicate than the Tala one, but I am much happier with it. Now off to make the next batch of yogurt!

easy to read but dose not clip on to all ...
cheap backup thermometer, works well, easy to read but dose not clip on to all saucepans and clip gets very hot! do not touch metal clip when in use and leave to cool down :)

How hot is your Pan ?
Really chunky and easy to handle thermometer. Nice and easy to see temp level as wide bright blue line. The clip to attach to the pan is ideal and easy to use. Storage is great, as the plastic sleeve is very sturdy, and has a list of best temperatures for fudge, toffee or jams.

thermometer for chip pan
This is a perfect design thermometer for use in chip pan I have bought several over many months, but this beats the lot! It has all the recommended cooking temperatures printed inside too Neat ,fits on side of pan, and even has a protective cover in which to safely store when not in use - because it IS delicate!

Das Thermometer zeigt in kochendem Wasser knappe 95 Grad an, also ungenau, außerdem läuft es innen an.
