Very colourful, and an amusing story
I was attracted by the colourful artwork, so I bought two copies, cut up the pages, and stuck them on coloured cardboard without the text, and typed the story to read to my primary school second language English pupils. They really liked it, and I was so pleased that I have ordered two copies of the picnic story, too. However, I think that the title could have been a bit more exciting - Rosie’s Adventure, or A Lucky Escape, for instance. I notice that there are lots of assignments available to help with literacy skills, and when I have mastered the art of buying them - or downloading them - they will be an added benefit for the pupils. A simple but effective story. I can’t give an age but the children are seven to eleven, and they are Austrian.

Wonderful introduction to inference
This is such a great introduction to inference for toddlers! The real story is of course in the pictures, not the words, and my 3yo enjoys guessing what calamity will befall the sky fox in his pursuit of the hapless hen. A must for any child’s bookshelf and, I believe, one that is featured on the wonderful Pie Corbett’s literacy spine.

Classic book with great humour for children
This is such a lovely classic book! I’ve used this for teaching nursery - year 1. It’s great for positional language with younger children and great for writing recounts with older ones. Children find this book really funny and really enjoy reading it over and over again. My son loves this book and thinks that the fox is hilarious!

Stands the test of time
The illustrations are excellent and stand the test of time, proving useful in mathematics when discussing the order of events.

A classic in board book edition
Bought for my 14month old grandson. He's had books read to him from a young age and loves the rhythm of the language in this book. I've deducted a star because the illustrations appear far more yellow than my 20 year old paperback version which I think is a shame, but the story itself is so much fun and as he grows I can see this being great for language development, watching the wily fox get his comeuppance!

My son won't put it down
I had not heard about his book before. Saw it in the library and picked it up. It is very simple book. Not too many words. its literally 3 words every other page. its a beautiful story of a hen taking a walk around a farm oblivious of a fox chasing it. The beauty of the book is, it does not even mention the word fox anywhere. when we read the book to my son, we read it with sound effects for when the fox jumps or falls .it leaves a lot of scope for discussion and for us to ask questions about what you think or whats happenings in each page. our son (18 month old) fell in love with it instantly. he started asking us to read it over and over. preferring this over some of the books that he owned since he was born. i went online and ordered it from amazon the same night. as the other reviewers have commented it is a book to treasure for a long long time. our son even sits on his own, turning pages and 'reading' in his own language.

Essential on young child’s bookshelf.
Delightful story for a parent/ career to read to a child, or a child can make out the story of r themselves because the pictures carry the story along. A classic in my opinion! Can’t rate it highly enough.

"Little Red Riding Hood" and "The magic porridge pot"
Little Red riding Hood in same delivery had green wax crayon scribble on inside covers and a huge grey pencil tick on the white area of each page with writing. all have been very tricky to remove. i didn't return as was needed fro a particular lesson, but so disappointed.. It did not fit description of quality at all. The Magic Porridge Pot-had a large rip on the front cover, possibly where a sticky label had been once and a very grubby back cover where a label had been removed and the glue had trapped dust and grime...not very nice to handle and off putting to children when you're trying to instill a love of a physical book rather than just the love of a story. Experience has very much put me of "used" purchases if the grading system of them is so inaccurate.

Molto semplice con poche parole. È bello perché il piccolo può provare ad indovinare cosa succede al volpe (pagine senza parole). Meglio per un bambino di almeno 2-3 anni è non per i più piccoli.

My daughter had to purchase 'Rosie's Walk' for a summer reading assignment, and I just have to mention how impressed we were with the quick shipping! The book arrived well before the due date, which was a huge relief. It was in great condition and ready for her to dive into her summer reading. Highly recommend for anyone needing fast delivery on books!
