My 2 year old can fly this kite with ease - it doesn't take too long to get out or put away in the little bag, so no frustrated little one - easy to fly as the wind fills the pockets and it doesn't even have to be too windy to fly it!

Bought at £5.49, I was hoping this might be a suitable replacement for my trusty (but sadly lost) Brookite Pockite No.1 (which now seem to be unavailable) that made many flights on walks and mountains over the years as the ultimate in simple, stuff in your pocket/rucsac portability. Sadly it's not and based on first impressions it's going back unflown, but I offer a few thoughts and pictures here for the benefit of others looking to inform their purchase.Firstly, it's not made of ripstop fabric as indicated in the description. The nylon is crisp (a lightweight Dacron?) and looks durable enough, but it's not the classic spinnaker type material with cross-hatch reinforcement. The four bridle lines are made of a soft, thicker cord and attach to sewn in tapes with a plastic ring for attachment of the single control line. The control line handle is a little cheap to the touch, but hey, it's kite costing under £6 and it's serviceable - it includes tie-off points in the centre but no cord slits. The tail section has two cord lines with multi-coloured "ribbons" of material, a nod to the classic kite? I'm sure they look stunning in the sky, but for my buck that's more cord to get tangled on the ground. A fabric tail strip is less inclined to tangle in my experience. It comes with a handy draw-cord stuffsac that's a little over 20cm long, so bigger pockets required, but perfect for sticking in a bag or carrying in the hand. For the money this is a good starter kite and from other reviews it clearly flies well. Lift is provided by the white pockets sewn to the upper side.It's not the pack-so-small-you-can-fit-it in your hand Pockite replacement that I was hoping for, but having written this review I'm sorely tempted to hang on to it for now and have some fun with it. Isn't that what kite flying is all about? ;)

The media could not be loaded.  There I was blazing away on a zoot when a thought popped into my head, wish I had a kite. Turns out this wasn't inner monologue because there was a reply, 'ya man a kite would be pretty great, it's been windy AF lately'. A few hours later, some clicks and a confirmation e-mail and I would soon be soaring to knew heights...if that were even possible.The next day the kite arrived with daylight to spare. I popped up with a pal to roof of my downtown flat. Like many other reviewers have stated here, the maiden voyage ended in peril/disaster. Not because the Kite wasn't excellent but because life is just funny sometimes. Gave my pal the handle and I held the kite as a gust of wind caught. The kite took to the sky, the line's slack went taught and soon the handle flew out of my buddies open hand soon followed by an 'OOOOOO MAN' out of an equally opened mouth. I turned to see the kite floating over central London, unfettered likes.Before I knew it I was ripping it down the stars, full tilt. I had to see where the kite settled. By the time I got to the bottom of the stairs and around the corner I'd seen that the foil had landed without and damaged like some sort of delated aquatic marine life over the back of an SUV. The only problem was the handle was on a building 6 stories up with the line trailing down to the kite. Miraculously I gave it a tug and it unwound itself and fell nearly into my hand. Truly a miracle.Shortly thereafter I took it to the park where it danced on the wind and also nose dived unexpectedly numerous times. If the wind isn't consistent you're going to have a tough time with it. If you've got steady wind you'll be able to raise and drop this little joy with no problem at all. The 'string' is nylon meaning it's slippery. If you do not tie a sailing knot to the ring expect to lose your kite. It will come undone. Other than that, have fun. I did.

Flying a kite with my hubby and grandson it bought back memories of my childhood 50 something years ago. Lol.

It was compact easy to fit in my pocket and my grandson could use it easily

This is a great little kite that is good to go straight from the bag and is stable in the air. That's achieve by it having a long tail which adds to it's visual interest. Easy to use and fold away. It needs a good breeze to keep aloft but once there it stays put. Kids love it and can use it easily.

Definitely value for money

I would upload a video if Amazon allowed one time access but they don’t seem to so imagine a lovely breezy Scottish beach with blue sky and this little kite flying high. Having read other reviews I tied the cord onto the handle using a few reef knots. When I unfolded it and unbanded the tail it went straight up into the air no bother. Highly recommended. Just add Scotland!
