It connects by a electric flex and a three pronged plugIt heats up well & is very good for the price

What are the tempertures of the five options ?

Hi It is not possible to provide a temperature for any solid hot plate? If you use an extension lead then make sure you have one with the proper fuse otherwise it may not work. Once plugged in and switched on the light comes on and goes out when the hot plate has reached the temperature set on the dial.

Do aluminium pans/pressure cookers work with this? I found out aluminium pans do not work with ceramic induction hobs. I will use this as alternative

Yes they do work with older styles of pan. This is a solid plate electric hob.

Is it good for cooking potatoes

Yes good all round cooking hot plate. Though as with all cooking ,need to keep an eye on pots overboiling.
