Super Convenient and Fast!
I am super happy and SPOILED to have found this device! I bought it in 2017. Today is March 25, 2019.I'm not saying you should throw out ALL of your knives... just most of them (or sell them or give them away).I'm not saying you should throw out your hand held shredders/graters. They have a their place in the kitchen also. And I am not saying you should stop using your larger food processors, either. They have their times and places... ALL of them are great accessories for the kitchen. However, this little gadget is an added convenience and it's quick! There are smaller hand-powered choppers out there on the market but those smaller ones make it feel like I am cutting the lawn with a weed-eater instead of a lawnmower... useful, just not as efficient. I have become SOOO spoiled, in fact, using a smaller one (like I did last week) made the job feel INCONVENIENT. I had to remind myself that I COULD be doing all this chopping with only a knife! That's how I see this dicing gadget from KUHN RIKON. The Size is great (although I would love to have a larger one). The smaller ones I have tried (from different companies) simply feel like your not getting enough done...EASE OF USEOn occasion, I have had some difficulty with some harder items (i.e. carrots, onions and brussels sprouts). My wife even more so. I learned that the trick is to not fill the chopper TOO full of those items. For me, that means a little less than half way full. For my wife, that means just enough to cover the bottom of the chopper. At any rate, in just a few pulls, you will have nicely chopped and diced the contents. The more you pull, the finer the dicing and chopping. The more you fill the chopper, the more pulls you will likely need to give the chopper to achieve your desired consistency. The additional white plastic attachment is also a great plus. It helps throw the food from the bottom of the chopper back up into the blade area for easier chopping. Last month, we ended up losing this white piece of the chopper but the device seems to be doing its job just fine.As for softer items (walnuts, peppers, beets, tomatoes, celery, garlic, apples, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, etc...)... no problem. I have even used it to cut up parsley and cilantro to satisfaction.DOWNSIDES1. I recommend you clean the device immediately after using. A simple rinse does the job most of the time. A gentle scrub with non-toxic soap is needed, on occasion. The lid (with the pulling mechanism that drives the blades) should not be submerged in water. A quick and light rinse with water or a quick wipe with a wash cloth or paper towel has been just fine for us.2. Noisy. The pull mechanism is a bit noisy. It truly does mimick the sound that is made by a lawn mower or chainsaw, only not AS loud.3. The pull handle is somewhat small. It is round and not grabbed onto easily. In fact, only the tips of two of my fingers will fit behind the handle/knob in order to pull it away from the housing and only then can I get my entire hand around it.I have learned to deal with these issues. Even so, there is room for improvement. I still give a 5 star rating

excellent chopper!
i use mine to chop onions, celery, pickles, and even the hard-boiled eggs for my egg salad. saves lots of time, easy clean-up. inexpensive gift for newlyweds. the more pulls you do, the finer the chop. no electricity. a nice little touch is the plastic wiper below the bottom blade. i haven't tried meat or hard vegs like carrots yet. jalapenos, bell peppers, olives - ok. herbs may be a problem if the pieces stick to the walls, so maybe you could add onion or something or scrape the walls down after a couple pulls. one of my best kitchen gadgets.

Immediately became one of my go-to gadgets!
Of course, common kitchen wisdom states one-off kitchen gadgets are a no-no. But this is one exception I'm happy to make. Bought this because I'm going on an extended car camping trip, and I was looking for something to make food prep easier, specifically for dicing and mincing. When I tested it, I fell in love with it, and now I use it all the time (I'm an amatuer "chef" so my knife skills suck). Easy to assemble, easy to use, easy to clean.Do note that if you want to use it for chopping, the pieces are not anything near uniform. However, for dicing, and especially for mincing, it works great! Will also work with very small amounts of food; for example, I've made relish out of 5-6 pickle chips.

Very helpful, I use it often
With my arthritis, I find it difficult to dice onions garlic, and other herbs. This product makes it easy. The diced veggies are not as symmetrical as hand dicing but it hasn't bothered us too much. And it's simple and safe enough for kids (like a preteen or teenager) to use.

Great for making baby food
I already own a magic bullet and when my son first started eating I used that to make all his purees. Recently he has been wanting to have more texture in his food. I tried to do this with the bullet but that machine really wants to give you a puree and I was not getting a consistent chop with his food.My mother has a KitchenAid Pro Food Chopper, Black which does a good job but you can't do much at a time and if you put too much in there it all falls out when you lift up the chopper.I was searching reviews on amazon when I came across this chopper and decided to give it a try even though it was $10 more than the KitchenAid. I'm glad I took the chance. This little thing is great. I use it to cut up whatever we are eating for dinner into a size that my son can mush with his gums to eat. I've also used it to chop onions and herbs. When chopping food for my son, I love the fact that I can put more in the bowl and therefore get his serving done in one step rather than having to do a little at a time. It's also nice that the chopper attachment is on the top of the bowl which you remove leaving your food in the bowl. Nothing to spill all over my counter. When chopping onions I've found that it's best to pre-chop. I cut my first onion (large) into about 6 pieces and the blade got stuck when I tried to pull the cord. After taking it out and cutting into about 12 pieces instead I got a very nice dice with just 4 pulls on the cord.I've also used this to chop herbs using the little attachment that helps "lift" small or light items. The blades are wickedly sharp, so be careful when handling and make sure to use the cover. I have nothing bad to say about this chopper and would gladly recommend it to anyone.
