My nephew is great at all things techy and he told me this was what I needed to be able to dim my lamp remotely. I was excited to get it and disappointed when it didn’t work. Long story short, after contacting their support Woojin was able to guide me through getting it to work and his response both times was quick and clear. I was surprised as usually you have to wait to hear back but it was working the same day. The problem wasn’t with the product but an Internet issue that caused it not to set up properly.

The Tapo P135 Kit is an excellent solution for smart lighting control, especially for homes without a neutral wire for a smart wall switch. My switch controls an electrical outlet behind my bed’s headboard, and I had two concerns: whether the switch would block the second outlet and if it would work with off-the-shelf dimmable LED bulbs. The switch’s compact design left the second outlet accessible, and in-app calibration ensured compatibility with my LED bulbs.I also customized a switch wall plate by adding an N52 magnet behind the circular metal plate, increasing magnetic strength to keep the dimmer switch secure. One tip: perform the calibration in complete darkness to accurately detect the lowest dimmer setting. Overall, this kit is a reliable and user-friendly option for transitioning to smart home lighting.

So, I get a lot of migraines, so I can’t always get up to turn on or off the lamp. Also people like to turn lights on and leave them on, and I believe in conserving electricity. So this is a simple solution to make for sure, I have control of the lights in my house and not anyone else! However, should they ever disconnect from the app? They are a royal pain to reset.

I bought two of these. It took a few tries to get them reliably setup and working, but now they're working perfectly. Haven't had any connection issues in the few days after getting them setup. I'm glad that the prior settings can be reused if you ever need to remove and re-add the device. The process to set the dimming range was confusing and could be improved. Having to do that over and over again would suck.The button is neat, but finicky to control. It doesn't stick to non-metal surfaces very well and that makes it hard to rotate and control the dimming. Trying to put more pressure on it to stabilize it ends up hitting the button and just turning the switch off. Since they're magnetic, controlling them on a metal surface is a bit easier.I do wish the outlets were independently controllable, but the lack of that feature doesn't impact my review.

I am blown away how easy this was to set up, I had the gosund Wi-Fi plug for a few years now and when I unplug it and try to reconnect it it is the biggest headache in the world, this one was super easy I didn't have to go through a million and one steps (Mind you I'm very Tech Savvy). Once I added this to Alexa it was a smooth experience from there. Trust me if you are on the fence between this one and the others I will say give this one a shot.

Works great for controlling my espresso machine. Set-up was easy. Now I can have my machine ready to go as soon as I get up in the morning (by the app scheduler) or remotely turn it on to have it ready when I get home. I'll find a use for the other three units in the 4-pack. Very happy with the product.

The other reviewers nailed it. So simple to set up. I googled "tapo plug setup" and followed the directions. It was even easier than expected. Only hang-up was that I didn't realize the iPad i was using didn't have Bluetooth turned on. After that it was so quick and easy. I actually could hardly wait to set up the others - the app was slick as you'd ever want. I love the sunset with offset feature. We've had several old school digital timers to turn on three lamps a little before sunset, but they always were a little erratic, and resetting them was a laborious project. With these, if I need to change the offset, it'll be about a minute to do all three. I found myself wondering "Where else in the house could I use one of these?" And, as the item description said, no hub required.
