Way better than the cheap ones from any hardware store. This will be the only one I ever buy. The control you have over your flow of silicone is absolutely perfect. The build quality of this applicator is probably the best of any manual type. The cradle can be rotated and the plunger can be changed to different types. I lost one of these and tried a cheap one, but despised it so I had to get another one of these. If you apply silicone regularly, then I would highly recommend this applicator for most purposes.

This is the best caulk gun I have ever used. I have two of them and neither on has ever slipped. Plus, they have the option of either letting the pressure off automatically when you let pressure off the lever or it can be set to keep the pressure on the tube of caulk or adhesive whatever you are using. It is a simple tool less process just slide the plastic clip up or down. The gun has plenty of power for all but the worst tabes of dried out cask, in fact I have had caulk push past the plunger by putting too much pressure on a tube that is plugged.Even if I didn't use this professionally, I would still own one of these over a cheapy for home use. Definitely worth the money if you need a caulk gun for any use!One tip, spray the metal portion of the caulk gun that goes into the tube of caulk with WD-40 (or similar) then if caulk does get past it easily peels off the gun once it is dry.

Very nice gun. Good flow control! Missing feature tip cutter! It would be a nice addition. Also, the puncture tip wire should be stiffer. It has the stiffness of a #10 wire - always bending. These improvements would make it excellent

The trigger action is smooth, far smoother than any of the cheap caulk guns you get at the big box stores. The mechanical advantage made dispensing thin beads very easy, even for thick adhesive. The pressure release takes a little getting used to, but using it was second-nature long before we got to the end of the first tube of caulk. It's heavier than the cheap caulk gun it replaced, but not so heavy as to be a problem.It's sturdy enough that I can't imagine needing to buy a second one, but if I do, I'll buy a Cox again, hands down.

This is an extremely good caulking gun.Easy to use, very precise. It's a pleasure to work with this tool. You'll want to caulk a hundred miles of smooth perfect beads. Sealing your windows, filling your cracks - with this high quality American made caulking gun you can do a great job caulking.I've tried dozens of different caulking guns over the years, and this Cox model is my favourite to use for applying caulking of medium stiffness. It's good for lighter sealants as well but for very thin consistency caulks I prefer the Cox wexford model that only has a 7:1 thrust ratio. I highly recommend both models but this one is particularly great with its smooth action. The switch to make the no-drip feature optional is a bonus.

Made in USA and England. A sturdy beast with replaceable parts. Don't waste your money on those cheap flimsy ones that bend, gum-up, and ooze caulk all over your hands and clothes.
